Good luck with that. If you find a reasonable method pass it on!

If they reinstate the draft, all the Bush voters should be drafted first.

It appears the stereotype that most Trance lovers are math majors is verified.

As much as that's a great idea, don't forget who's in power. They're more likely to send Democrats and minorities to war. Give them less compitition in the next election

also, although conflict with either seems fairly distant presently...it's my opinion and many others that you would not be able to take either russia OR china in an aerial or ground-based war. the only forseable victory for the states would be nuclear conflict, and everyone loses there.

so yes, GW would still be a twat.

Name a country that the US has ever invaded for its natural resources. If that were the case we would be stealing Iraqi crude as fast as we could pump it. Instead we invade the country, spend billions doing it in order to remove a violent dictator and hopefully add a little more stability to the middle east.

Like it or not, every country we have invaded since 1900 has been to defend it from some foreign agressor or some communist revolution, not to steal resources. And it has almost always been at the request of the rest of the world.

And I have to disagree with you on us not being able to take China or Russia. The US would not beat them in a matter of days like Iraq but we have the most powerful, most advanced military there is. Neither Russia or China would want to test that.

And again, our massive nuclear stockpile would prevent China or Russia from going there.

and gays, let's not forget the gays

but the ironic thing is, most of the Bush voters all all gung-ho about war and would probably enlist first

true, and this would be good cause those that survive and come back all messed up are less likely to vote for him again.

what's with this thread? you guys couldnt hack it in the Political Debate and Discussion Forum?

actually i dont blame you, it was mostly flaming in there.

on a side note, i'm glad Bush is still in office. I support the conservative side, as my morals and values closely match those of many conservatives.

NOTE:

"Kerry's telling college students Bush is going to bring back the draft (which, btw, a bill to do so was crushed in the US Senate 99-1, and obliterated in the US House 434-2) <-- rough figures.*

* and OMG, the 1 vote in the Senate was a DEMOCRATIC senator, and oh wow, the 2 votes in the House were from DEMOCRATIC representatives. Methinks it's hypocritical for their party to rant about Bush and the draft when it's their own party bringing up such bills."

Posted by UWM on Nov-03-2004 17:47:

Yan, you're right. That's one thing that is absolutely ludicrous.

Time to dust off those "bush or monkey" sites... Here's one to get you started:

You're an Idiot. where not saying the Bush wants the Draft, were saying the way bush runs things, he wont have a choise.

Posted by Yan on Nov-03-2004 17:58:

Anyone care to help me with a rebuttal to this statement:

quote:
Oh **** you. Get your ******* facts straight. Kerry didn't flip-flop, you ******* moron. Read the congressional records before spewing rhetoric.

On the Senate floor on October 9th, 2002, Kerry said:

"As the President made clear earlier this week, Approving this resolution does not mean that military action is imminent or unavoidable. It means that America speaks with one voice. Let me be clear, the vote I will give to the President is for one reason and one reason only: To disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, if we cannot accomplish that objective through new, tough weapons inspections in joint concert with our allies.

In giving the President this authority, I expect him to fulfill the commitments he has made to the American people in recent days--to work with the United Nations Security Council to adopt a new resolution setting out tough and immediate inspection requirements, and to act with our allies at our side if we have to disarm Saddam Hussein by force. If he fails to do so, I will be among the first to speak out. If we do wind up going to war with Iraq, it is imperative that we do so with others in the international community..."

Golly gosh, he was against the war in 2002! Right after 9/11! He didn't flop-flop!

EDUCATE YOUR ******* SELF.

Funny that this girl decided to post this to me when I didn't even mention any specific of Kerry's flip-flops.

Because I was TOTALLY making reference to one of the posts in this topic.

I'm just trying to show folks that are SCARED of the reinstatement of the draft that everything is going to be fine.

Re-read my statement, chum. He can't do it as easily as waging war.

Posted by Arbiter on Nov-03-2004 18:01:

I'd rather not respect the views of Bush supporters, since they aren't respect-able.

To be honest, I have respect for a lot of conservative positions, but they happen to be the ones that Bush doesn't stand for, like: privacy rights, fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, non-interventionism, and a narrow interpretation of the Constitution.

I can't even really see how Bush can rightly be called a conservative when he shamelessly abandons these core conservative principles. When I find out someone is a Bush supporter, I can only assume that they are ignorant about his actual views, or they are simply living in a land of nonsensical "faith-based" emotional "thinking." Neither of these qualities is respectable, so I don't really respect any Bush supporters. All the conservatives I respect abandoned Bush years ago and split between Kerry and Badnarik.
