I drive my mom's car

Posted by house_conXion on Jun-09-2005 14:03:

Ditto, I drive my mom's 97 Protege. Still runs well, little rusty but oh well. Looking to get a Mazda3 or a Mazdaspeed3 if God's shining down on me.

Posted by PartyHarlequin on Jun-09-2005 14:38:

Used to drive a 92 Mazda 929 Serenia (I loved that car)

Currently drive 2003 Dark Silver MINI Cooper S Works

Land Rover gave me an LR3 to drive for a week... We'll see how that goes.

In the near future I'd like to pick up either an 85 BMW M6 Euro, or an 85 Porsche 944 S2. <--- going to be the tuner car

For your tuner, restoration, general maintanence may I suggest Engineered Automotive. Those guys rock the house!!!!

1992 Honda Civic LX

This is the best picture I could find:

I had mine painted to "Pearl white" though and so the black mirrors, door handles and side panel things (haha is that the "technical" term? ) are now all uniform colour. 5-spd manual transmission and awesome Rockford Fosgate system

In late 2002 I picked up the Trans Am:

I love this bloody car! I only drive it a couple times a week durng the summer, get lots of looks from old men who are thinking "What the hell is that kid doing driving that car?!"

That T/A is one sweet ride . cant tell what year it is from the side , but Im guessing by the honycombs and the hood profile it anywhere between a 77 and a 79
I used to have a 77 back in the eighties , wish i had not sold that one
does it have the 400 pontiac or the 403 olds engine??

techead, some seriously sweet rides. Love the firebird, such a stealthy look. Too bad I'm not rich.

I am not rich either

I work hard and long and have invested my time into cars
some people buy ott computers or stereos or clothes
i induldge in my car hobby.

I should spend more money on the house , but i am no way gettin itno the keeping up with the jonses approach that exists in my subdivision

I buy a bargain and work on it
If I was rich I would still drive the same type of cars (OK maybe a lambo or ferrari as well ) only I would have more of them ie muscle cars , JDM nissans and toyotas ,classic cars etc
but I appreciated most cars , I get the same excitement when I see a a tuner as i get when i see an exotic . for me its like music diferent stokes for different folks and justy like liking all forms of EDM I like all forms of the car hobby.

Ok day one of the LandRover LR3 and it's crap. Ford needs to have their head examined when they change the marketing scheme of the companies they buy. It's fucking ugly and there's more pickup in my brothers expedition eddie bauer. I think the next SUV purchase will have to be a Lincoln Aviator

The LR3 is a pure off roader (where it blows the competition away) and is not used for speed. Try taking the expedition off road side by side with the LR3 and you will see what I mean.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you're rich and lazy. It's obvious that you did have to do something right and hard to be able to afford that kind of hobby

Unless I also totally misunderstood you, I thought "POS" stood for Piece Of Shit, to which I added, a car that would only get you from "point A" to "point B" (something you hear all the time from people who choose practicality over shweetness).

Anyway, there's my dumb joke for the day (or is it about the 20th now?)

If you grew up in Europe you would realize German cars hold little appeal to an enthusiast when you see them every day

I had a porche 924 martini racing edition back in the early 80's along with a couple of rx7's and a lancia beta coupe
I also owned over the years an opel manta, ford rs turbo and an xr3i
fiat 131 supermirafiori twin cam , ford Capri, ford consul , Toyota Celica mk1 (1970 1600gt) mgb, Triumph tr4a, MG metro , and then my need for "yank " tin started and I ended up fueling a ridiculous passion for firebirds camaros and corvettes which I still love to this day

I would love a nissan skyline and using the 15 year rule it won't be long before the models i like can be imported from japan

btw nothing wromg with honda if its an s2000

Mine

I could just be biased, but I dunno why people spend so much money to modify their cars. Fundamentally, they're all the same. They go forward, they go backwards, they turn, and they stop. It's just that a more exotic sports car might do those things better or faster, but essentially, it's the same motion.

Sure, bikes are all fundamentally the same too, but no exotic sports car, not even a Ferrari Enzo can match the thrill of ripping through an on-ramp at 100 km's an hour with your knee down to the ground.

It's not as comfortable, the interior looks cheap and in general it's fucking ugly. The discovery (by no means a great car) was soooooo much better than the LR3.

Anyways Land Rover is never seeing a dime of my money. If only the X5 4.4 was like 10k cheaper
Lincoln Aviators have beautiful interiors.
