Originally posted by ShellSh0ck Vandit wants to come up with something new, paul recognized that Ferry has improved a lot and he liked his recent Remixes or Tunes so he played them. Furthermore you dont have quick profits and guaranteed success when you book Ferry for a Vandit Night because he's never been here before. The Berlin Crowd is very openminded towards new Guests...so there wont be any problem. Moreover PvD hasn't dissed Ferry since ages...
...and the topic is....

Originally posted by Sand Leaper Yes, I understand. It might well be that Paul is just booking Ferry in order to make as much cash as possible, but the factors I have brought into the debate via my posts puts that argument into question. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Paul has flip floped numerous times tastewise compared to his earlier statements. For instance, he stated in interview that he didn't like the new mixes of Synaesthesia since they didn't do anything new with the original track. Yet he goes on to play Ferry's mix on Soundgarden regardless.

Originally posted by Dave Piazza Let me repeat myself. Hopefully you can help me answer these questions. ------------- The paradox ( if one exist) is found in the purpose of Vandit Nights and the booking of Ferry Corsten. To understand this paradox you have to ask yourself the following questions: What were the characteristics or musical philosophy of other DJs prior to the Ferry booking for Vandit Nights? How are they different from Ferry? If Vandit nights is believed to be an event that Paul Van Dyk shapes to showcase his idea of dance music; than one must analyze the Ferry booking through this perspective. Thus the following questions must be asked: How does Ferry Corsten fit into the musical philosophy of Paul Van Dyk ? Is this booking congruent with the musical direction of Vandit nights and Paul Van Dyk? Is Paul Van Dyk selling out on his musical integrity in the aspiration for quick profits and guaranteed success via Ferry Corsten?? I dont claim to have all the answers but I do know what questions to ask. Hopefully someone can solve this puzzle.

ok, but i think they have already been answered in a way ...
ferry doesnt fit into the vandit night guest dj setup (historically) he has a totally different sound & is far below djs like sasha & timo maas in terms of ability...
also hes a dj that PvD has booked just to fill the club
its not a case of PvD trying to cash in, as ferry costs MORE to book than the alternatives, yet the door prices are always the same (10 euro, its very low)
what it is a case of is PvD being two faced again, hes done it with tiesto, oakey and now corsten. Theres so many djs that pvd used to slate in the past, and now hes getting all 'neutral' in his old age. PvD used to be a total prick, and he'd slate people at the drop of a hat - im not saying he should go back to that, but if he does think something about someone at least he should say so - even if it is positive... he may have genuinely started to like ferry (although i doubt it very much) but he should say so either way. Having him booked isnt a reason to think that he does, as he books tiesto yet thinks hes a shit dj.

Originally posted by Laushinameee yes i have. and he will he books tiesto to fill LFA whether you like it or not - popular 'trance' attracts a bigger crowd than people like timo maas or chris liebing or any of the other 'alternatives' he could have had.
