Furthermore you dont have quick profits and guaranteed success when you book Ferry for a Vandit Night because he's never been here before. The Berlin Crowd is very openminded towards new Guests...so there wont be any problem.
Moreover PvD hasn't dissed Ferry since ages...

Let me repeat myself. Hopefully you can help me answer these questions.

-------------

The paradox ( if one exist) is found in the purpose of Vandit Nights and the booking of Ferry Corsten. To understand this paradox you have to ask yourself the following questions:

What were the characteristics or musical philosophy of other DJs prior to the Ferry booking for Vandit Nights?

How are they different from Ferry?

If Vandit nights is believed to be an event that Paul Van Dyk shapes to showcase his idea of dance music; than one must analyze the Ferry booking through this perspective. Thus the following questions must be asked:

How does Ferry Corsten fit into the musical philosophy of Paul Van Dyk ?

Is this booking congruent with the musical direction of Vandit nights and Paul Van Dyk?

Is Paul Van Dyk selling out on his musical integrity in the aspiration for quick profits and guaranteed success via Ferry Corsten??

I dont claim to have all the answers but I do know what questions to ask.

Hopefully someone can solve this puzzle.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Paul has flip floped numerous times tastewise compared to his earlier statements. For instance, he stated in interview that he didn't like the new mixes of Synaesthesia since they didn't do anything new with the original track. Yet he goes on to play Ferry's mix on Soundgarden regardless.

im sorry but i dont think you should keep talking in this until youre 100% sure you know what you are on about...

you keep going on about synaesthesia & the flashover mix of time getting played on fritz.... it was FERRY who played them on fritz... even if you didnt listen its fairly obvious as its clearly listed on the playlist...

I dont think its a case of PvD selling out at all - how can he be out to make the most money possible? when he books a dj like corsten who would cost MORE than one of these 'safe' techno djs that you are on about, yet still charge only 10 or 12 euro on the door! that argument makes no sense... its just a case of him wanting the club to be full, and in this day and age having someone like corsten is going to get that NOT a 'techno' dj - again you dont know what youre on about saying shit like that.

i have to pull you up on this again.... how do you know what most german clubbers like?? sure there is a large techno following, but its still very much an underground thing in berlin. perhaps underground is the wrong word, but berlin techno clubs are not about big djs & big money... and this is sadly probably one of the reasons that that scene is in some difficulty. There is a definate slowdown there.

putting on a 'safe techno dj' will not get more people in the door than a pretty big name world 'superstar dj' like ferry corsten. Saying otherwise is really ignorant.

please point them out to me smartass.

hurry up cuz I think A State of Trash is coming on soon.

Posted by Laushinameee on Nov-18-2004 19:55:

ok, but i think they have already been answered in a way ...

ferry doesnt fit into the vandit night guest dj setup (historically) he has a totally different sound & is far below djs like sasha & timo maas in terms of ability...

also hes a dj that PvD has booked just to fill the club

its not a case of PvD trying to cash in, as ferry costs MORE to book than the alternatives, yet the door prices are always the same (10 euro, its very low)

what it is a case of is PvD being two faced again, hes done it with tiesto, oakey and now corsten. Theres so many djs that pvd used to slate in the past, and now hes getting all 'neutral' in his old age. PvD used to be a total prick, and he'd slate people at the drop of a hat - im not saying he should go back to that, but if he does think something about someone at least he should say so - even if it is positive... he may have genuinely started to like ferry (although i doubt it very much) but he should say so either way. Having him booked isnt a reason to think that he does, as he books tiesto yet thinks hes a shit dj.

why cant you see ? shes answering them shits all over again. i'd be pissed if i had to explain myself again to a bandwagon jumping dj like you who flame artists while yourself dont have a fucking clue. you always ask questions and dont have a single answer to help/make better anything. so yeah, youre annoying.

So Laushinamee because you hate Ferry you don't think he should have been booked to go along with OMG I DIE!!!!!!!!!!11111 PvD?

Socrates once said 'the smartest man is he who questions'

I value the Socratic method.

I assume that as a pimply adolescent teenager you have never studied Socrates or the other Greek philosophers.

So I say to you , as the Greeks said to the Trojans, Fuck Off and Suck my Balls Bitch.

yes i have.

and he will

he books tiesto to fill LFA

whether you like it or not - popular 'trance' attracts a bigger crowd than people like timo maas or chris liebing or any of the other 'alternatives' he could have had.

BUT, Ferry has never been here before...so most of the crowd dont know him...Ferry is a NoName in Germany, he isn't popular over here.

but hes a popular world name, he will attract a lot of people.

and there is the holland factor - its a lot easier for a shitload of fans to come down from holland than fans of nick warren to come over from the UK! The only other presale apart from germany is in holland right?
