There is no best bassline...

But I do dig full on with it's fast basslines.

Astrix - Artcore comes to mind at the moment.

Hard to tell, because a lot of songs have a good bass-line:

SHOKK - Isn't It All A Little Strange (Krazy Nut Mix)
Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire

Posted by zshev on Dec-12-2004 21:05:

Leftfield - Phat Planet hands down
--

Big Top - Sub
Massive Lust - Never

also amazing basslines

Brooklyn Bounce- Born to Bounce has a nice bassline.

Other than that, hmmmmm. Mauro Picotto - Verdi is good as well, plus DJ Tiesto - Suburban Train , though not really the bassline, just the bass elements.

Mark Otten - Tranquilty

Thats pure mint!

Posted by richard raiban on Dec-14-2004 04:52:

medway - bassline track
iio - rapture (deep dish mix)
luke chable - ride

some other greats basslines but my brain is too tired to think right now

Surely not

System 7 - Big Sky City

I think its considered cheesy house or something, but I've always loved the bassline in Rune - Calabria.

Mike koglin - Enjoy the Silence

Although the rest of the track is really what makes the bass line great... the high note of the bass gives me the chills every time (on a good sound system)

I agree!

Best bass line doesn't necessarily mean name the hardest goddamn distorted-bass-incurring song you can think of', right? A lot of the music named here doesn't ring a bell in my little EDM head, but somehow I can see how the thread title might have mislead some people.

Airtight is one of the most bass-driven tunes I can recognize, as it's bass has been so utilized to become a sort of ambience. It doesn't have the standard and periodic thump that a lot of electronic songs have, or at least it's used differently. Very unique song as far as I can tell. But I'm a trance noob, so don't listen to me.
