INSANE! That's what last night was for me and commandrstraker.

About the only thing that upset me was the coat check..........2.5 hours........that's just stupid and crazy (Poor setup by the Docks). But what really burst my bubble was that the TA's got personal meet time with Tiesto............while I stood being crammed and stepped on at the coat.

As for the music...
UnF^kin amazin (parden my french). I got exactly what I paid for. A fantastic time and some fantastic tunes.
Richard Raiban.......sometimes playing fresh underground music is not what I'm in the mood for. And I certainly don't want to spend $40+ dollars for a make or break nite.

What blew my mind completely was this song I heard from the Tiesto Gelredome Arnhem 10-30-2004.

Someone PLEAZE help me find the name of this song. The lyrics go like this:

"How did I let you go…(voice echo and fades out)

when I Lost you …in the darkness of a lonely night…and I found you in my arms and holding me so tight….when I’m with you and I kiss you, I can feel your heart……don’t you know that I’m the one to keep you safe and warm…….

Chorus: Never ... let you go"

OMG when he threw down this track........the crowd nrg went nuts.

So for me it was worth evey penny!
I can now sleep in peace because I got my christmas wish early. A 7 (not 6) hour set.

And the TA's we met last night were outstanding.

What a NITE!!!!!!!!

That was one of the 2 best quotes of the night... "Check out that thug gangsta up there on the platform. That shit makes me so mad, it took all of my willpower not to knock the shit out of him up there."

Followed closely by some slutty porno lookin chick trying to cut the line at the end of the night in coat check, by Starsearcher: "OH COME ON, she's fucking fat and ugly."

Also when we were walking out to my car at 8:30am at the parking lot on the corner of Polson & Cherry St., Tiesto drove by in a Hummer H2 and honked and waved at us. That was kinda neat.

I am *really* impressed with the Docks. I thought maybe Halloween with Dumonde might have been a fluke, it was run so well. No! These guys know how to keep things organized (coat check notwithstanding). Guv could certainly learn a thing or two about how to host an event with a superstar DJ on the bill (like actually having a capacity limit!)

*Big thanks* to Jay (musicsnob_not), who went there earlier, for his frequent messages keeping us apprised of the situation and recommending that we NOT bring coats. I forgot to thank you...the info proved invaluable

So instead of going early and dealing with what was apparently a massive lineup at the door and coat check, we figured we'd show up later, after the door tickets were sold out. So we get there around 12:30-ish and pretty much walked right in as there was a "line up" of about 10 people, lol As we left coats at home, we didn't have to deal with the coat check fiasco either!

Plenty of room to move around, to dance, etc...crowd was *super* cool...no drama whatsover. People complaining about the gino content, the shirtless guys, etc...WHATEVER This was one of the best crowds I've experienced in a while. I define that as me not being annoyed at obnoxious people or having constant flow of people *cough*likeatGuv*cough*. At the back (side?) in the new area there was lots of room, but the sound didn't seems so great there, really bass heavy, almost distorted at times, I thought. So we moved to the back of the main room, facing the booth, and stayed there for the rest of the night.

Tiesto...good set, but he's officially dropped off my "must see" list. Don't get me wrong, I like him...but he's no Armin, Marco V or Ferry. I will *always* go hear them...Tiesto...maybe. Guv was a *mess* the last time he was here, and so I spent 3/4 of the night chatting on the patio, so I wasn't too sure what to expect this time. In fact, the ONLY reasons I went were because it was NOT at Guv and becuase he was doing a 6 hour set.

Lots of great tracks, but a little harder overall than I expected. I figured that over 6+ hours, he'd mix it up a bit more...have a driving, hard portion of the set, a melodic "cheese" portion, a dark portion, etc...but it was less diverse, I thought. Still...plenty of of good stuff that kept me dancing as long as my legs and feet could stand it after having back to back Christmas parties on friday and saturday night.

I'm *loving* "Ridgewalkers feat. El - Find" and I was soooooooooooooooo glad that he played that...highlight track of the night for me Lots of anthems...which is always a plus for me. There are certain tracks I just don't get sick of hearing on a big sound system...Open Your Eyes is one of them...blissful

I do understand why people freak out when he's voted #1 DJ...his mixing was a bit sketchy at times, but his energy and track selecion more than makes up for that though.

smokers seemed to light up occassionally...no big deal...plus, I can't complain, I guess, because I did enjoy the sweet scent of pot throughout the night, lol...pot smells sooooo much better than sweaty people and cigarette smoke, lol

Missed most of the TAs who were mostly in another section...nice to see Natalie who hung out for a while...saw RJ after the lights came on as the Tiesto faithful were finally leaving, lol. As usual, it's the crew who truly makes the night...always a pleasure Dan, Chris, Marc, Natalie, Chris, Jay and friends, Jon and friends (up from NYC), etc.

lately...Docks > Guv...although I'm very much looking forward to Mark Oliver on NYE

WOW... What an INSANE night that was.

That was by far one of the best parties Ive been to in a long time. It been about 2 years since Ive gone to a party, with the exception of WEMF. I got sick and tired of every party sucking and not being able to find parties that only played trance. I had lost all hope in the Toronto trance scene... untill last night. It opened my eyes that trance is coming back

I loved the hard stuff he played. Such incredible mixing skills. The club decor was off the hook. The sound was perfection, clean and crisp, but not death to the eardrums. When I first saw the crowd I was a tad dissapointed, but I have to admit there were a lot of friendly gino's... I guess I shouldnt have judged the book by the cover.

Only shitty part, is waiting for the next big trance event!!!

I find that weird. Apparently people saw him last weekend in a Hummer too. That's so weird because his ryder specifically stipulates a 24 hr limo service. *shrug* Must have updated it I guess, who knows.

I fully agree. I was REALLY REALLY impressed with the crowd. Everytime someone would bump me they'd apologize, yadda yadda. Good stuff, really.

Oh yeah, Cuzo was a pure ball of energy the whole night, we were getting so tired near the end and he'd come over to us and get us going again... Thanks dude

Push vs. Globe - tranceformation ...another puppy to add to the list

Posted by Slag on Dec-13-2004 00:22:

Last night was pretty friggin good.

Only beef was with the coat check being FULL, and the mad smoking going on.

Posted by Euphorica on Dec-13-2004 00:24:

Yeah , overall the crowd was good but there were some pushers that didnt give a shit but theres always some of those.

some of you may have saw me... awkward looking dude with the old sk00l manual slr camera hanging around my neck

Posted by Playa24_7 on Dec-13-2004 00:27:

OMG what a night. i honestly didnt know what to expect this time around. after seeing him at guv, him not really into it, spinning a short set and bookin it, i wasnt sure what would happen. his 7 hr set was friggin amazing! the whole time he was so into it! you look on the video screens and you can see him jumping up and down, dancing around to the music, totally enjoying what hes doing hardcore! putting his hands in the air and pumping the crowd up, pure smiles.

nyana was one of my favs for the night, i love it! gouryella was also amazing. VERTiGO comes up to me when it comes on and says something, and i go "what? your gonna yella??" lol! yeah i couldnt hear what he said that well.

met alot of tranceaddicts, rabbitjoker, tatgirl, dnmr, cono-sur, starsearcher, cuzo, DVD2004, amb, endlesswave i suck with names so i missed alot. i couldnt help dance my ass off hardcore, i was just loving it so much. Cuzo was going insane the entire time! even in the coat check line after tiesto ended "i have pulseating beats in my head! i cant stop dancing!" hahaha! rabbitjoker got some tiesto vinyl covers signed, and i got a pic with them haha. DANCE2DABEAT (kelly) as always, showing off how much shes pumped by the music, dancing like crazy till the end. as i say with every party i've ever been to with you, you always make it that much better for me when your there. VERTiGO and his friend steve who were both sober, still had amazing energy untill the very end which was wicked. it was awesome hanging out beside the dj booth with all the TAs. its awesome how everyone comes together with the music.

TATGIRL! i want to see the pics you took! and anyone else that took pics! haha

obviously like everyone said, coat check was facked, not set up right at all, just stupid lol.

i have way more respect for tiesto now, than i did after seeing him at guv. hes truly an amazing dj. that was one of the best trance nights of 2004 for me.

Posted by nycionx on Dec-13-2004 00:29:

man tiesto was amazing last night!! i had a great time and it was nice to meet some new TAs..djshan, ali, starsearcher, drgoodvibe, vertigo, dance to the beat, playa247 (u got some sick moves with those glow sticks man), partygirl, and a few others (sry i forgot ur names).
for me this was a perfect date/time. i just had my last exam that morning, so i got home and slept until 8:30 and then got ready to leave. stayed all the way to the end of his set. it was so funny wen he started to throw out those flyers he was signing (like 50 of them), ppl were killing eachother over them! there was a fight that broke loose between some kid and this bodybuilder. only pushing before any punching tho cuz security arrived real quick. i ended up getting a flyer, and i also got my ticket signed. heh it was so stupid and sad so see his headphones come apart in like 3 pieces! those stantons had to be worth a million(before it got rapped ). i think they were signed too. he also threw out a signed vinyl and that also shattered. i got like 1/10 of it with like 1/100 of his signature on it.
overall his set was great. i really liked hearing ridgewalkers and darren tates a prayer for a god (tiesto )<--that tune was some amazing vocals in it. they arent actual words but just sound cool and so uplifting. wish i could hear austin leeds - taurus tho. such a pounding tune!

so wens tiesto coming again?

what he said.

it was nice seeing some of you, seemed like you guys had done this sorta thing wayyy more than I ever will

coat check wasted like an hour from when I got there, and when I got close enough to the counter, it was full...... perfect.
It got a lot better after 3, but that's when I started feeling sick also...? Dunno what it was.
+ smokers..

I had a pretty interesting evening.

Started out at my buddies place downtown, sampling various types of hash and bud.

I was standing in line to get in, some girl just suddenly collapsed on the concrete.

Coat check was my only serious complaint. I managed to squish in before it got REALLY gnarly. Even then it took 30 minutes.

Tiesto was pretty much what I expected. Thank god the 2nd floor was open.

Overall a good night. Tiesto played exactly what I expected. His programming + stuff from his new alubm is definately not my thing, Armin , PVD and sometimes Ferry do it a lot better for me. He is oficially no longer among my fav. djs. Don't get me wrong, he did play a good set, and it seemed that many people liked it, but it's nowhere near those shows that Armin pulled off on last Thanksgiving, PVD exactly a year before Armin and Tiesto himself in the Docks in June 2003.

Highlights of the night : coatcheck madness, Find (Andy Moor mix), crowd singing "Love Comes Again", lights, some hot chick hitting on my gf and asking us whether we want to have an orgy with her and her bf (she was really fucked i think), Yahel - Voyage. Highlights are listed in chronological order

EDIT: Why can't we have parties like that with Armin, PVD, Fery etc. I am pretty sure if the prices are a bit lower as many people would show up.
