Beatmatching is a pain in the ass, plain and simple. If you're not a dj you don't understand that. I could do 100 times more things to a track with the mixer if I didn't have to worry about record a or record b slipping.

Abelton streamlines this, and with the custom controller that Sasha has, he doesn't look like a wanker (you can still see him working the mixer and controller).

If you don't appreciate the next level, where things are done on the fly and unconventionally, then you won't appreciate this...yet. You will, though. Why? Because this shit is the future, and its here to stay.

To quote Sasha: "Its about whats coming out of the fucking speakers."

couldn't have put it better myself

Cus then a promoter can buy his mix CD, put it on and charge 40 $ a ticket, not quite the fuckin same is it ?

Amen to that man, i think it's pure ignorance not to embrace new technology as you progress musically...

Half of the replies in here make absolutely no sense.

Do you guys reread your posts before clicking that "Submit Reply" button?

Get your facts straight too cause as many repeated Traktor and Ableton are NOT the same thing.

Who ever think this is a bad move for Sasha is absolutely crazy!!! Its those same people....who probably just got their set of tables....and are afraid that vinyl will die soon and they just want to bitch and moan because they spent all their money on getting them and in the future its just going to be obsolete ..ok first let me start off by saying the man has been DJing for over 30 YEARS...he's fuckin done it all.... I could care less what he uses at THIS point in his career....as long is it fuckin sounds good!! I have seen him use vinyl, CD's, and now twice with his laptop....and I must say when he uses his laptop....he has his WHOLE collection of maybe I dont know 40,000 songs on his little ass laptop....imagine the sets he will throw down!!! Yes I will have to agree with what someone said....that he looks bored when he is using this....but to that I say....shit he has been DJing for over 30 years I would be fuckin bored too...heheheh....the fact of the matter is that Sasha is using Technology as its coming....its a very smart move on his end...I mean when I saw him use his laptop in October he was going in and out of Ableton...cd's...and vinyl....but u can tell because the mixes werent as clean when he went in and out....Bottom line, Sasha is a fuckin genius and will always be the Clubbers DJ! Nuff said!

There is no spoon.

As far as the titters and arseholes go.....

That suckx, dude.

I'm actually practicing on the decks now...

Posting in between vinyls.

Heh...I'm not doing so bad now...

Practice really does make perfect.....

But I definetly still need a lot more practice.

can you at least trainwreck? I mean beatmix

You're lucky I'm not there next to you ..... I'd start saying things like " uh oh I don't think that's going to work there ... we're running into some problems sir! "
The most annoying things just to get you to lose your concentration.

I do that to some of my friends all the time and they just want to shoot me

I came up with new name descriptions for trainwrecking:
doing the side step dance, hoola hooping, jumping jacks among others ...

Yes; I'm a hater.

oh yay our company as 400 is going down for 30 minutes due to power disruptions.
/me takes a nap.

Meh, NO ONE can trainwreck better than me.

And no one taught me how to beat-match/mix so I'm pretty much on my own here.

My coworker just ripped an lcd panel appart and is looking at the different screens ( fresnel, lenticular etc )

If you rotate some of them and put them at a certain angles it makes some patterns

How exciting.

dude either someone start a " I'm bored at work let's talk random stuff " thread or else I'll keep posting these random ramblings in random threads.

Right now I'm trying to read
Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea

The seemingly impossible Zen task--writing a book about nothing--has a loophole: people have been chatting, learning, and even fighting about nothing for millennia. Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea, by noted science writer Charles Seife, starts with the story of a modern battleship stopped dead in the water by a loose zero, then rewinds back to several hundred years BCE. Some empty-headed genius improved the traditional Eastern counting methods immeasurably by adding zero as a placeholder, which allowed the genesis of our still-used decimal system. It's all been uphill from there, but Seife is enthusiastic about his subject; his synthesis of math, history, and anthropology seduces the reader into a new fascination with the most troubling number.

etc
etc

Great math/philisophical book.

It's making me doze off.
I've never been able to read more then 5 pages in a row.

could you guys stick tho the topic ?
