the entire halftime show sucked. i think it was kelly osbourne that was on before her and she sucked just as much. and then they had some american idol people on and finished off the performance with ashlee. what a joke that was. a friend of mine was like "i think the refs are telling the teams to get on the field asap to end this shit"

with any luck she'll be back in the future have learned from her mistakes and ready to do it right being able to call the shots herself

Sad??? I don't think so... If she's a "suit's muppet" - she can always say "No"... it's not like she's going broke or will die hungry or anything... Even if she's not a pop star, she can always be a well-paid pr0n star

BOOOWHOOO, let me shed a tear for rich talentless (unt.... BOOOWHOOO I just looooove watching undeserving people crash and burn from their "flight of Icarus"-like fast trip down from fame.

Do you think this will mark the end of prepackaged crappy music put out by the major labels?

I hope so, but I doubt it.

First off, I do feel bad for Ashlee, not just because her voice is downright bad, but because as someone said earlier, the music producers and RIAA are just chewing her up for the time being and will only spit her out when they damn well feel like it (which is going to likely be pretty soon). I make very few exceptions for any celeb to wave the "victim" card, but I will concede that she might just be one of those rare exceptions. But just to a certain extent - she should know damn well just how fucking bad her voice is.

But this really brings me to a more larger point at hand - how many of you actually believe that today's "pop" music has any fucking talent whatsoever? And let me first state right out that I'm not fan of Pop music/top 40's music, nor will I likely ever be. However, I have no problems acknowledging talent, originality, a great voice, or a combination of all three when I hear it, regardless of the music genre. And the bottom line is I havent seen a lick of it for years in the Pop music genre one bit (well, at least in general a few surprises here and there exist).

Why is that? Why is it that the only thing that seems to come out of fucking MTV and the radio is either repetitive urban soul music (though admittedly the singers are very talented), extremely repetitive rap music with butts, tits and pimp-my-fucking-ride-mobiles, or terribly untalented Pop music singers that absolutely SUCK singing live and must resort to a thousand or so takes on just one song because they are abso-fucking-lutely horrible to begin with and refuse to believe that they do, in fact, truly suck?

Okay, maybe its rhetorical, because the obvious answer is the music producers and the RIAA. I really dont understand it, or perhaps I do and just dont want to believe the sex/drugs/youth appeal to the adolescent listeners and watchers. It fucking sucks, because Ive heard some incredible talent from numerous live local bands that cant even get their foot in the industry door. Or whats worse, theres bands out there that HAVE actually gotten their collective foots in the doors, signed on labels, but have been willfully held back by the recording industry to make way for the fucking repetitive shit and screeching Ashlee Simpson voices that are supposedly making more $.

But is it worth it you fucking piece of shit music industry? Is it worth having this god-awful shrill played over and over to the point of nausea that supersedes actual talent just waiting to bash down your fucking door for the entire world to hear?

I need more coffee. I cant get rid of this fucking headache.

i think the problem has to do with pop star cycle. the "pop" category can only go on for long so before it needs to be torn down, given time to cool off, and then be rebuilt by equally shitty groups/stars/whatever you want to call them. example: new kids on the block. they were the pop band of the 80's and early 90's. girls grew up and realized that they sucked. the pop category faded away. but since n'sync and the backstreet boys there hasnt been that period where people can go back to listening to half way decent music. its just been one shit star after another, britney spears, christina aguilera, mandy moore, ashlee simpson, lfo, the list goes on. thats just my theory.

From a consumer stand point performers should have to divulge whether the concert will be sung or lipsynced. I think the public is angered more by being deceived rather than the level of simpson's talent. There have been a lot of rock stars who aren't talented or don't have a great voice (dylan, ramones, ac/dc...) but they don't pretend to be something they're not. They're unique in their own way and have earned their fans respect by touring and performing for them. Simpson doesn't get it, its all about poor her.
