Let's see....

Maple syrup, Mounties, snow (want some?), Taxes, our water spins in the right direction, yes we do have a Navy, our French are WACKED (but awesome partiers), Hockey is everything, we can drink the U.S. under the table, our beer actually has alcohol unlike the U.S.'s, it's REAL cold right now (-30 C) , at -50C our gas freezes and we have to use our sled dogs, our igloos are real neat...

Other than that....we're pretty normal and will party at the drop of a hat...

oh yea, if I wanted Canada to be invaded, I'd want it to be by cool Aussies!

Couldn't have said it better myself - you party just as crazy as us Aussies :-) LoL You forgot to mention the ice rain and windchills and snow storms though.......yes, i survived it all, first time i saw snow in my life and experienced such arctic circle conditions! :-)

I invaded beautiful OH CANADA for one whole year and unfortunatley my visa expired so i had to return to the land downunder.

Miss it lots and would give anything to go back again someday.

TORONTO is the bomb EH!

P.S. Miss getting Timmies every morning on the way to work LoL

Ohhh one thing i don't think i'll ever get used to is: Last call at the bar.....i've never heard of such a thing in Oz....so you can imagine all the times i was out in T.O. and everyone was telling me we had to go, and i was only just getting started LoL

Posted by Sly_Guy on Jan-19-2005 14:45:

yeah for the aussies who started this thread this is their first taste of the 'TOTA unnecessary politics discussions' which invade every second thread.

This is pretty much strictly a North American phenomenon. I dont know why people here seem to think having a last call is necissary.

18 but not strictly enforced. (much like Europe)

last call exsists in ireland too. When my mom used to bartend before moving here, it was like 11pm, but because all irish are such raging alcoholics, they'd just buy 10 drinks at last call and the bar wouldn't close till like 2 or 3 in the morning.

You are right. The only other place that last call exists is Ireland and the UK which is why we got stuck with it. Some how the aussies freed themselves from it and im envious.

sorry jayx1, i had to go last nite. anyways the debate is about age, not about being behind the wheel. whats ur opinion about cops pulling you on a side and demanding id if your drunk? (not when behind the wheel)

if you are a passenger in a car and they pull you over to see if you are drunk? Thats wrong. Why should a cop care if you are drunk if you are not driving? You aren't hurting anyone.

This has nothing to do with the current topic, but for the weed: I've gotten REALLY REALLY good weed down here. Most of it is from outside Toronto though. BC weed isn't some be-all, end-all weed.

Diginut: weed has nothing to do with you being paranoid. It's all about your attitude on when you get high. Some people just can't help it and get paranoid...but it's not something that the weed does to you.

Actually I don't have a dealer and I rarely ever toke. If I do it's usually because a friend happens to be offering, and these days I tend to decline because it usually sucks.

Maybe I'm just the paranoid type, I don't know. But I don't remembering that ever happening a couple of years ago.

That's not true - attitude definitely plays into it but so does the herb.

Digi's right, if you're a paranoidish person, the weed will make you paranoid.

If you tend to be fairly laid back then the weed will help you relax and not think about things.

If you think a lot, you'll think even more while high.

If you think you look and sound high, you'll look and sound even more high.

If you think the weed sucks, you'll get no buzz.

If you think the weed rules, you'll pay attention, and get a light buzz.

If you just wanna get high, you'll be fine. Weed rules.

I like Ontario weed, but fuck cess.

Australia would be an awesome place to visit. I wanna come down in a couple years Does Aussie have good weed?
