last year at tiesto the crowding downstairs was the worst i've ever seen it. upstairs wasn't bad - you could actually breathe... plus better music

Tiesto last WMC was insanely crowded! But at the time, I didn't really give a shit because it was such an incredible nite

For Tiesto the side room of the main floor wasnt rediculously packed. There was room to dance, drinks were accessable and the same beats were playing. Definately beat the swordfighting going on in the other room.

ive said this a million times before, i agree, they play two totally different sytles, and yes its not fair to compare the two, because its a injustice to them and the musik they represent..so i think you misunderstood my post...i dont mean to sound condscending or arrogant with this remark, but ive seen both these guys more times than anybody on this forum, and itso facto i have a more refined opinion and viewpoint than most....pertaining to space, tiesto's archived main room sets are almost without peer, the only djs that are on his level are some i mentioned in the previous post, and sadly sander is not one of them, and i listen with an objective, trained ear..now sanders terrace sets are a whole nother ball game, because besides maybe morillo, sanchez, nobody really owns the terrace like he does, and that is hard to do, space is a tough, seasoned crowd of clubbers....but concerning energy, that is the main characteristic of trance music, there can be no marginalizing that, and although im not saying that the style that sander spins is not energetic, its not the style that has me jumpin up and down in the air, choking my brother, screaming at the top of my lungs, type energy. i think you get the point. sanders style of musik is to be appreciated on a different level, but i wouldnt call it the hi energy level, why do you think they have festivals titled TRANCE ENERGY, and not HOUSE ENERGY, different genre, diffent textures and sounds and emotions...again not saying his sets lack energy, but intrinsically that is not the overriding feel of his sets..hope this clarifys my position a little better... I LOVE BOTH DJS, i just think at main room space, tiesto on his game in the main room is without peer, the only time i felt the energy meter come close to him was edgar v after pvd in novemeber, i give props where props are due, and sander gets mad props on the terrace, but in the main room i will take tiesto any day of the week, thats my opinion.. peace

Well said. And it does come down to opinion. I haven't enjoyed Tiesto as much since '01 or '02, but that's just me. I respect your argument, because you explain yourself. It's excellent. Not just Tijs rules, or Sander rules, but a solid set of examples and reasoning.

thank you...your right its a matter of taste...but i agree with you, i do miss the old tiesto of circa 02', but at the same time trance has changed and so has he with it. not to mention the fact he's not as consistent as he used to be, but he can still hit that home run every once and awhile, and thats what keeps me a dedicated fan... later, see you wmc
