Originally posted by DJ Eco sorry guys, i dont wanna start trouble or nething, so dont take me apart on this comment..... BUT...... it seems like a whole lot of u guys are growing up, and just being very very elitist about it. when u were 18, im sure u have the same stance as i do now.... if it were 21+, it would be the same, perhaps with just OLDER juiceheads and guidos and what not. Tiesto's music has been all over KTU and whatever "dance" CDs u can find, so i dont think its a matter of 18 y/o's ruining the vibe, its the fact that ppl are being fed the name Tiesto and nothing else other than Tiesto.... ask these KTU people who Paul van Dyk is, they dont know, when in reality, theyre both at the same level of fame, not to mention, some of PvD's tracks are worthy of play on KTU ("crush" anyone?)... its just what theyre fed, that makes them ignorant.... look at Europe... the clubs there are 18+, the huge festivals are 18+, many people there are dressed as guidos as well or what some ppl call "eurotrash", i think its totally unfair to just say parties shouldnt be 18+, when in reality, Louie Devito's following has branched out to the sounds of Tiesto. they love the dark mysterious tech-trance of "traffic" but dont bother to hear songs by Katana or Marcel Woods or Sam Sharp.... they like the nice techy song "obsession", yet dont bother to realise that there are songs better than that by the likes of Max Walder, Mauro Picotto, and hundreds of other tech producers......

Originally posted by neon haha, that's true.. that's true. But it doesn't always judge one's maturity character. i mean: Does he/she knows his/her right wrongs? Does he/she knows his/her actions might lead to sufferable consequences? Does he/she being 21- in a club mean that he/she must be inmature, acts tough and is only out for the hype of the party, and not for the love the dj and the scene? damn, do i make sense? lolol

Originally posted by BitchBoyNYC Very well put. Listen, Maybe I wasn't clear in my previous post, I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH CLUBS BEING 18+ IF THE PEOPLE GOING KNOW WHO THEY ARE GOING TO SEE!!!! My bro is 18 and some of his friends are the same age are are interested in checking out the scene FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. I remember what it was like when I was under 21 and I hated the fact that many parties were 21+. Yes it is true that there are many 21+ peeps that have no fuckin idea what is going on in the club and are there to show off their cut bodies and try to pick up some girl/guy for the night. From my perspective, it seems that the 18+ crowd has more peeps than a 21+ crowd to fit this category. And those of you who are not 21+ can't compare because you have no idea what it's like at a 21+ event. All I can say is wait until you get to the 21+ age group and then check out the 18+ parties & the 21+ parties and see the differencees so that then you can see what we're talking about. We ain't trying to hate on you. it's just that there's quite a few "bad apples that ruin the bunch". ![]() Edit: BTW, when PVD comes to Crobar in April, it's probably gonna be an 18+ event & Paul will probably tear shit up just like Tiesto did. It seems like Crobar is making Friday night parties 18+ events. Sasha & Zabiela are going to be 18+ as well.
imo its not the age, but its the fact that things done repeatedly get boring...
drugs
clubbing
drinking
video games
its all the same...
If the drinking age was 25 people 21 would behave the same way 18 year olds do...
dont kid yourself...

i hear toronto makes more mature 19 year olds
Last night sucked
Not to beat a dead horse, but last night sucked and 18+ def. ruined the vibe. I go to Crobar since it is the classiest "superclub" in NYC. If I wanted last night's crowd I'd have chilled @ Spirit on JP nights. It was just at bad as Avalon over the summer. Both times, the crowd ruined my night and I ended up drowning my sorrows in Jager and Rumple Minze.
Or i could have blacked out due to the half a bottle of Jager I drank before I got there. People were definitely being pushy and rude all night. I almost got in a fight with an enormous black dude with dreads. Thank god my brother was around or I would have gotten the snot beaten out of me. If you guys have ever seen my brother thero40 and I, you know we're pretty big, but this guy would've fucked both of us up at once.
Oh yeah, I also completely fell on my ass. I thought I was being all slick hopping over the counter that separates the dance floor from the VIP downstairs. Instead, I caught my foot on it and busted my ass in front of a bunch of hotties.
Whatever, I guess it was all par for the course. Definitely getting a table for PVD in April.

who goes to say the people goin to clubs dont have a clue of wats goin on. God damn how many fucken guido comments can be in a thread.
all the italians that i know that have gone to clubs know ALOT about the scene. Those stupid comments make the person look ignorant
^^ +1
....and also, many of u have made the following comments...
"the 18+ definitely ruined the night"
"if i wanted that type of crowd, i wulda gone to a JP night @ SPIRIT"
....guys, sorry to break it to u, but JP nights @ SPIRIT are 21+, so obviously it wasnt the age limit that u should be reacting to, just the type of people that Tiesto's name now brings in.... even though many guidos know a lot about the scene, u'd be surprised, u shuldnt characterize every guido like that, which is what some of u have done... being italian myself, i dont really find it offensive, but i do find it untrue.

Originally posted by AY STAR ive said this in another post but the days of tiesto in clubs is far from over we will now have to see him in outdoor events or somethin tiesto's set was pretty good, 10 times better then avalon that was the worst, and also better then his set at roxy in 2003 tiesto started out good and built up a lil bit then this is where i got confused he was playin this hard trance/ tech-trance song then puts on ridgewalkers- find (andy moor mix) how do you go from hard to progressive he also did it when he played just be that totally killed it, but other then that tiesto played alot harder then i expected, few techno songs and some good techy songs as for the crowd it was terrable, thee were some cool people, but i say about 60% of the crowd were deadless, they were not danceing just watchin him and screaming, not to meantion there was this one old asian jerkoff who was doing the stupid head shake dance with his girl and kept pushing me and people around me so i couldent take it anymore i gave him a shove and we almost had a fight crobar should have not been 18 last night should have been 21 and up the montana mix of universal nation made my night in final notes ill say it before and ill say it again like tiesto14 said and others said, you just have to cherish the tiesto moments pre 2003 in nyc like exit, roxy now a days hes too popular and the crowd is not the same i guess next time he will be here will be a summerstage so far ive only seen blank and jones and tiesto and tiestos set was better, but we got armin next month, followed by ferry so i wouldent hold my thought about tiesto keeping his "number 1 spot" for very long and the syestem at crobar was deff off a lil they needed to raise the mids a lil bit
Reading your post was so hard to follow, but in the end, good points

I think most of the people from 18 - 20 use it as an opportunity to hit up the happening club since they otherwise can't. Since Crobar is the number 1 club in the city right now, it gets hit pretty hard when they drop the age limit. Unless I have a solid group of friends going to an 18+ events, I definitely avoid them. That's surprising. It must have been some American tourists.
Americans are responsible for 45% of the world's gun related deaths. Canada is way down the list. I just think we are a more violent society and thus our clubbing experiences a little more dicey.
I've never seen any fights when I've traveled to other parts of Canada like Vancouver or Montreal.
Must be angry east coasters.... same as NYC.
Some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Wow, that clip was sick. I wish I remembered it being that good. No more Jager and Rumple from now on.
Well, it was quite a journey for me. I flew from SF to NYC for one night to see Tijs and here he is! I'm back to San Francisco, he is back to Netherlands but memory stays.
Finally i got back my ability to walk and hear - it's not an easy job to be Tiesto's go-go dancer LOL
This thread is a disaster - 5% about the show, 95% about "would it be good or bad to allow +18 attend the club?" Well, I started to go out when i was 12 but it was loooong time ago and it was in Europe. Crowd is def different there but this is not a point. I think it's not a matter of age. If it comes to the events like this it will always be crowded. Honestly I have never seen dance floor at Crobar THAT packed. And as somebody already mentioned - you see not only 18 yo faces but grey haired men as well.
It was an awesome awesome night. It was a big surprise for me to find out that HE is finally coming and I was really excited to see Tijs again.
It was a mistake to go and dance on the floor. I ended up with 18 bruises on my body LOL so I had to go back on the stage.
It def wasn't "Love Comes Again" night. It was hard, hard techno trance night but different from Washington DC.
There are some people working on IDing the tracks because i'm not as good in that as they are so... let them do this job. I was enjoying myself, listening to a "new" Tiesto, talking to people, dancing so hard that all my body still hurts.
And i want to apologize for not satisfying everybody's requests. I passed a few times by the stage getting some flyers and cd's for Tijs to sign but physically i couldn't get all of them. Sorry guys. I remeber myself trying to get my cover signed and i was in paradise when it happened so i know how important it was for many of you.
Mike, did he sign your records? I lost you somewhere in the mad crowd but it was a great moment when everybody was yelling "T-es-too, T-es-too" you were standing in the middle of the dance floor with Records above your head ( for people who don't know Mike - he is a giant) and everybody was pointing at you. I felt like everybody wanted Tijs to see you and sign those records for you. He did see you. In that moment i saw that it wasn't a crowd that just came to have fun, it was a crowd came to see Tiesto because they all cared.
And.... it was a funny moment, when we were leaving a club security escorted us from the back door and.... people were waiting for Tijs to come out from that door. They were trying to get some more pix, but Tijs didn't stop, we jumped in a limo and left.
Pix - http://fota.mota.ru/26162 or http://photobucket.com/albums/v688/lanaka/Tiesto/. PM me for video.
And pls, i need help, there is a second pix from the end - two guys are sitting on the back seat of a limo and one guy is showing me "V". Could you pls ID this guy, i know he is a famous DJ from Montreal, his name is David (i think). LOL. I would really appreciate this.
Luv everybody. mhua!

Crowd, horrible yes, but expected. Tiesto, good, wasn't expecting to be assaulted with a hard set like that, but I loved every minute of it. Best part of the night was catchin one of the signed dvds he threw into the crowd
some pictures are up here.
