i dont hate All "core" things, i really like breakcore somethimes. thats about it though. i cant stand much gabber.

...i would say trance, but its just too broad of a statment. there are still good things floating about...most of them old of course. trance just pisses me off...no hate here folks...just juvenile anger

I dislike about 99% of Trance (LOVE the remaining 1%). I dislike all styles that contain the word "hard" (with the exception of Hardstep). I also dislike all those -core styles. I really don't like Scouse House (just awfull) & Bigbeat was never my cup of tea. I enjoy most other styles of EDM, wether it be dnb, house, prog, techno, dub, ambient or whatever.

Posted by Geoff on Mar-06-2005 22:40:

drum & bass, is it just me or does every single track literally sound the same. is there somethin im missing?

and happy hardcore WTF

This is hard , but yet so easy. I can not sat that i hate any style , but there is so much shit stuff in every style. I used to like sasha before , now i dont. I used to like Tiesto before , now i hate him , i used to like Picotto before , now i can stand that spagetti eating m**** f***** nowhere. 2 djs that i can say are realy realy good , are Mark lewis and Markus Schulz. Mark , cos he is the only dj , that can mix anything from progressive house thru trance to techno , and it still sound so fucking amaizing. He plays some trance stuff with -4 pitch , and its just amaizing how good it is. Markus, cos he is the f*cking man =) And yeaah , Ozgur Can =)

Styles i HATE : hard style , hard trance , and all that crap =)

I hate you because you hate "house" and certain EDM.

I fucking despise funky house. Every single opener in the U.S. plays funky house and it makes me want to vomit!!!

the fact that when you're younger (in the teens) you sometimes don't appreciate some styles, all my post meant was that the older you get, the more your taste varies, if i'd said 5 years ago what i'd be listening to now I probably wouldn't believe me, so there is always time to begin to like other styles, sometimes it just 'happens', I didn't mean it in a patronising way at all, but ask many of the TAs who've been here since 2000 or 2001, and most will have moved on in some way or diversifed a bit.

this is very true, musical preferences change all the time, even when you are 40 years old or something.

yeah, i get the feeling that they think we're talking down to them (younger ones) but im just stating what i've been thro in the last 12-13 years that i can remember, and dont see any way that it wont continue like that

You are. Either consciously or unconsciously.

(Dutch) epic trance.

It's utterly fucking stupid. The stuff that was released 5 years ago was somewhat okay (no wait, it wasn't. Dutch people have always been fags), but now it's just fucking dumb. Totally braindead up-in-your-face-all-the-time shit. I mean seriously, cool the FUCK down with the anthems already. Your beats don't make you hard and techy. Your high notes don't make you emotional. Your "underground-ness" doesn't make you any fucking better than whatever commercial shit 12-year-old girls listen to. And your fucking 3-minute-breakdowns don't make any fucking sense at all.

Posted by nwopper on Mar-07-2005 20:30:

Well, Sweden has Ace of Base, that really contributed to EDM in general

Yawn. Your rants are about as creative and well written as a 15 year old on ritalin's essay. We know dutch fluff is shit, but if you're gonna take the piss out of it at least bother to properly take it to pieces with some creativity behind it. This guff sounds like you're throwing a hissy fit cos someone stole your cookies.
