Many records are not on Discogs (yet), so don't take that for granted.

Is Orbital - Belfast (Leama & Moor Mixes) really that rare? ive got a copy here, i know its white label, but theirs probably still places in the UK where it can be bought

i guess u are right, but most stuff leama & moor mix (not per definition, but most of the times, looking at the past), becomes rare, since it's usually pressed on a white label. this white label has already 11 wants ondiscogs, but was released not so long ago, in nov 2004 .. so thats why its kinda rare. but its hard to define when its rare/sought after ... so u r kinda right. but from the other, this is a limited press, says the discogs' picture .. so its limited in some way

I don't think it is that rare.

In fact, it is currently in stock at Chemical Records!

Also, a white label with the original classic by Orbital and the Sasha vs The Light Mix is also available right now.

The discogs.com own/want list is not always the best measure of record rarity. Older releases are more accurate, as stores will no longer stock them, but more recent releases (past year or so) are generally easier to find than what discogs.com might indicate. Certainly there are exceptions for very limited white labels, etc, but most recent releases can be found somewhere online.

Because it's not that rare mate.

While on the topic of U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name... put one down for the Danni Devoli Remix... I think only he and Oakey have it. Or some rumor has it...

yes you are right on that, i must admit that i made that conclusion myself too ... records that are older then 2 or 3 years give a good indication. although nowadays some rarities and classix are rperessed again, like the auranaut - people want to be needed [barracuda] will be repressed this year ... theme from norefjell has had some represses, rumours are going on that aria - dido/willow is repressed too ... just look on ebay, its up there twice a week. pretty much for such a rare record
there are also rumours that other kamaya painters tracks (except wasteland/summerbreeze) are repressed. they are also very often on ebay ... last week, a black hole release of kamaya painters - endless wave, in brand new state, wasnt sold ... the starting bid was 1.99, and nobody bid on that auction ... says enought to me!

Nu NRG and PvD are the only ones I know of that have this.

And it wont be released.

Airscape - L'Esperanza (Armin van Buuren's Rising Star Remix)http://www.discogs.com/release/158286

I heard this one is copied from Various - Autumn 99 EP ( http://www.discogs.com/release/85423 )

On the Autumn 99 EP is the only copy with the LEGAL Armin van Buuren Mix on it, so not recorded or something.

So that http://www.discogs.com/release/158286 release seems to be illegal.

The Autumn EP is rare I think, there are 500 copies worldwide, can anyone confirm this?

The low 'wantednumber' on ebay is because no one knows the Armin mix is on dat vinyl I think.

Posted by ThaMaestro on Mar-31-2005 20:48:

hey daanmc, nice to see u in my topic here. guess u r right on that avb mix of l'esperanza, but i guess its because since the whitelabel is already rare, everybody wnats to have it, maybe to have such a rarity, just for the have (in dutch; voor de heb)
and some people might not know about the other releases the track is on, but sometimes people are after certain labels and releases, like most of tiesto's tracks are much more wanted on his mm or blh label then on the other labels as nettwerk, jive, kontor, etc ...
or for example; bt's mercury & solace release on black hole is very hard to get nowadays and very rare ... allthough the tracks itself is found on different other releases which are sold on ebay for example, for far lower prices ...
rarity is something hard to define, and choices people make is also hard to follow sometimes, thats why u sometimes see those strange facts&figures on discogs/ebay, i think ...

Posted by ryo on Mar-31-2005 21:41:

I heard that too about the white label being illegal. And someone told me the quality is very very bad. So you're better of with the Autumn ep.

Posted by DaanMc on Mar-31-2005 21:52:

Yeah, I heard that too about that bad quality..

I'm happy to have that Autumn EP

*updated* (http://www.discogs.com/release/312487)
a remix from 2003 on dido's white flag ... nobody has it, though its wanted .... maybe a rarity too?

Talisman And Hudson - "Leaving Planet Earth" (C.S.F.M.)

I doubt I'll ever find a copy of this.

Posted by stefanst8 on Apr-04-2005 22:12:

surprised noone mentioned the two armin / perpetuous dreamer vinyls that are almost impossible to find and rarely seen on ebay being sold for very much money:

Future funland original 1999 playground release
http://www.discogs.com/release/79697
and the one sided (one of 50 copies ever pressed) Classix etched Astura remix
