I want to thank everybody that took the time to come out and join us for this dinner. I want to apologize to everybody that didn't get their meals. To tell you the truth I knew it was going to be a mess when the manager told us all the meals were going on one bill so I just decided to drink and not eat. We had this all worked out before or else we wouldn't have picked this place for the dinner. They were suppost to separate the checks by 10 people per table. But w/e we tryed and that's the best we could do. I don't understand how they can just charge us for 165 meals when we can't control who comes and who doesn't. Next year we are going to do something diffrent to make thinks easier. But again, thanks to everybody for coming out and showing your face. It was deff fun while it lasted. Much props to Damom for taking the heat...just never put your card down again like that!!!

i'll definately help organize something like that
just need to pick a day that doesn't clash with another big event like radio 1.

We could even set up some thing where we had h'orderves and beer and everybody could Paypal 10-20 bucks to get on the list

Well I dont know where to start or how to finish. Myself and brian for three months were working on this gig, and trying new ideas to have another big TA dinner, bigger and better then the successful one from the last year. I understand with the gig across the street at nikki beach was good, and some people couldnt reist on leaving, but when you are saying one thing about coming to the dinner, having two threads about it, making something like 25 pages on whats what and who else is gonna be there, It seems a lil shitty when half of the people that said that they were coming, never showed up, or have some type of lame ass excuse. Am I upset, bitter, at that point and time, I was, but now, I just take into effect if I will do this again for next year. Im not gonna sit here and bitch everyone out, cause that would make me look stupid, I just wanna say I am confused with people who say one thing and do another, racing through traffic and getting there early to get things prepared, so everything will go over smoothly. I know it was a pain in the ass to park and the traffic was sooo shitty, hell it took me 20 mins to find a spot, but at the same time, we all made it clear that everyone would be able to make it, maybe a lil later on, but no biggie, everyone would show, I would see like 15-20 peeps not showing but the amount of that didnt show was just shocking to me. With that, the management was another problem; since I told him I would have 160 people in attendance, I never gave him a guarantee on it, nor did I sign anything about it. The problem is that, after the appertizers were served, they were waiting on the rest of the people to show up, I had over 80 in attendace already, but for some reason they wanted the rest to show up, while the food was already made, and starting to get cold. This resulted in me getting into a heated argument with both owners, while ryan, brian, pat, hope and others were behind me backing me up and giving me support. After 1 1/2 of trying to straigthen this out, from talkign to the police and several other people, I gathered enough money to make these clowns happy. After that, I was sooo stressed about the whole thing, I wanted to call it a nite and go home and rest my head, with the shitty traffic, the poor attendance, and the ordeal with the management, I just had enough. I would like to take a moment and thank all of the TA's that made an effort and showed up and had to deal with the shitty staff and management, and helped me out in the end, THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for coming out, it was a joy seeing all.

Opa's owners ARE ASSHOLES. It's like it's their freakin' career.
My company had a dinner there one nite and they did the same thing:

You tell them you got about 40 people coming but not all show up - they will TRY to charge you for the people that didnt arrive.
Nice gig you got going there you pricks....
make money out of thin air, and of course,
they like to throw this air "that it's in stone" because
they "say so".
Maaan, blow me til it hurts.

Honestly, you guys should look at places that are NOT SO chi-chi
for the dinners, so that it's not so expensive and hectic.
Maybe like The Alehouse or Tony Roma's as an example?
Just my $.02 folks.

Under the circumstances I think you handled that whole situation very well. I'm sorry things turned out the way that they did, but I think I speak for most when I say thank you for at least trying to organize something for all of us. It was great seeing everyone and meeting new people. I enjoyed myself and I would do it all over again.

Despite the short duration of the dinner, it was still nice to have so many TAs under one roof at one time. I'm sure something better will be worked out next year. Until then, screw Taverna Opa.

Porcao > Taverna Opa.

And that's the bottom line.
