I agree they are. How about this, go and picket at City Hall asking the city to permit and build a super-club with mulitple levels that holds 4000 people!

Ya Ya that would be unbelievable, I would proably spend all my money there too......maybe all the show promotors can come together and do soemthing???? i think some people did that to make a new club called Republik in toronto. supposedly its really good, what are the max number of people tha tclubs can hold here?

if the city is having a hard time filling up places like commodore and plush for electronic music events, i seriously doubt a 4000-people super club with multiple levels would do any good to anyone. but hey, i'm happy with clubs in van, just enough and just right for our city

ajaxs, i dont think all the vancouver promoters can get together for one big event, probably the closest is that summer rave, forgot the name, where whole bunch of people put on their own stages. the politics of this city are kinda sucky

so true,^^^^^^ its a hope i guess, in due time maybe.......is the big event your talking about called shambala? i've heard about it from a friend, supposedly out in the interior somewhere.

I think there will be more tickets available at the door but they will be more expensive still worth it though

not to promote twisted's case or anything, but this is gonna sell out for sure, and if tickets will be available at the door, expect to pay double

Now ya see that is where you're wrong... Expand your mind for a sec! Check it:

Level 1 = House
Level 2 = Trance/Hard House
Level 3 = Hip Hop
Level 4 = Breaks/DnB

I agree that with just Electronica, it couldn't be done, but if a scaled cover were offered for a specific level or mutliple levels, the club would do extremely well. This is done in places like Japan all the time and in time, would work here once the Hip Hoppers realize they could have their own level seperate from the rest.

hey i'm neutral here

about the superclub idea with 4-5 levels, my guess is it would be very expensive to run such a club and that would greatly affect the cover charge. you can charge people $60-$70 for a rave once in a while, but it would be difficult to draw a regular crowd at that price on a weekly basis. vancouver doesnt get a whole lot of tourists to cash in on them. for example, in europe or wherever, you can charge $20-$25 at world known clubs, they will draw people no matter what. vancouver needs to first build its reputation as a city with quality EDM nights and clubs, then dream of having superclubs with multiple levels.
