When promoting events it is always hard to have to announce bad news so it is with a deep heart that I have to announce that Tomcraft will not be in Winnipeg for Fantasia. He has decided to cancel his Canadian tour despite binding contracts because of his performance at the Republik in Toronto having to cancel on him. I have been told this is not the first time he has canceled out on Western Canadian Tour dates.
All that being said we have reacted quickly to ensure that the show will go on without a hitch and are pleased to announce a brand spankin new headliner for Fantasia. Call it luck, or the moon and the stars aligning that has allowed us to secure 2 amazing DJs to take the place of Tomcraft, so without further ado, filling the shoes for the evening will be none other than:
BK (London, UK) Hard House/Hard Trance/Techno
(Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, Positiva)
Ben Keen, aka BK, is recognized the world over as the most successful and prolific hard dance producer of all time. With worldwide dance chart hits like Music Is Moving, Hoovers n Horns, and Revolution, BK has reinvented the genre of hard house and breathed new life into the style. And in addition to having conquered the world of hard house with his production skills, BK is positioned to take over the global DJ scene, ranking since 2001 as one of DJmags top 50 international DJs. He calls his sound ever-changing and full of energy, with innovative infusions of trance and techno that redefine the hard house style. He believes that the sound of hard house has definitely changedits got to, and whether producing or playing, the sounds that BK creates represent the future of the genre.
In 1999, BK enlarged his creative scope to include the DJ circuit, proving that his talents are not restricted to the studio alone. By 2000, BK was already playing clubs around the world, headlining and appearing at all of the biggest dance events, including Dance Valley (100,000 people), Global Gathering UK, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System UK, Impulse NL, Frantic HardHouse Academy UK, Creamfields UK, Godskitchen NEC UK, Judgement Sunday Ibiza, Lashed in Ibiza, Gallery UK, Slinky UK, and Code Japan. He currently calls three of the most forward-thinking UK hard dance events home, holding residencies at Frantics Convergence, Nukleuzs Riot!, and Kinkys Trade. Much of his success is due to the same experimental approach that he utilizes in the studio. As a DJ, Ive been looking at other genres, and Ive found that kind of music is something I like and that I like to play, and no ones complained!
In an extremely short period of time, BK has become recognized as not only a genre-defining producer, but also an influential DJ in the hard dance scene. His prodigious talents have created a new direction for the future of hard house, but BK is not ready to stop yet. Ive made every sort of music in the past, even stuff for television commercials. Ive micd up a 60-piece orchestra at Abbey Road And now I want to start bringing that into the kind of tracks I do now. Do that, but make it danceable and club-friendlyfind a new sound for myself.
Ascension (Calgary, Formerly London UK) House
(Former Ministry of Sound Resident)
Making his return to Winnipeg, Ascension has been living in Calgary Canada for the last year and is part of the Scent DJs roster. Ascension has been known to lay down an almost soulful blend of house music that will be pleasing to the ears of anyone within range.
We are also pleased to announce the winners for the new DJ competition, We received over 20 submissions and it was very hard to narrow it down and only choose a few but the winners are:
Salem A new face in Winnipegs trance community and has proven that he is more than capable of delivering a solid set.
&
The Elemental Monks A new Hardcore/Happy Hardcore tag team sure to make waves in the local scene.
Sound & Lights: As Fantasia really is a celebration of Sound, Light & visual stimulation, our crew over at Frequency Pro Audio is putting together something sensational. A 3 day setup will commence to erect a 100 foot long massive lighting array that will loom over the dancefloor moving and pulsing. The largest stage ever seen at a local Winnipeg event will stand at the frontline, bordered by more Lights, Visuals & Lasers. The Sound will be no less then Top of the line EV X-Array and promises to shake the ground beneath your feet.
Tickets: Available at Frenzee, Urban Bakery & Nyce records and have begun moving very quickly this weekend. Make sure you get yours fast to avoid disappointment.
With the additions of BK & Ascension and the already stellar line up including Kristoff, Isis Graham & our cast of Winnipeg Locals, I am even more excited for this event then I ever was before, just goes to show.. Sometimes there really is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..
WOW....this kinds bites. I was really looking forward to Tomcraft. Well, as always, make the best of the situation.
6 more sleeps. Just hope the weather is nice..that will help.
as long as there are babes and trance then it oK!
and weather will be nice it looks likehehehe
Bah, it's not their fault that Tomcraft has a history of bailing out, this event will still be solid in my books. Just happy this is a larger scale party to have in Winnipeg in such little time since the last one.
OOOHH and the light show sounds cool, always imppressed by a good light show!!
PAAARTY!
6 more sleeps!?
WOOHOO!

Agreed, still looking forward to a good time.
Gotta keep that positive energy flowing cause that's what it's all about.
I've got 3 tickets for sale. They are 25$ each. Email me at katjoh_wtc @ hotmail.com if you are intrested. I've cross posted this to TVT.
Hopefully you guys are nice enough to not flame me about not going!
I've decided I am not as intrested in the headliner and I would rather go to some secondary plans I already have for the weekend.
But I'm sure this will still be an amazing show
Damn it! woulda bought those tix off you.
Went to frenzee to get 2 and it cost me 66$
they said that the venue was charging an extra entertainment tax!!BAH! Ah well
No diaapointment here! I have a great feeling this will be even better then the last! i woulda loved to hear Tomcraft, but whacha gonna do! Make the best of it and partyhard all night. everyone knows thats all we ta's be going for! Sound and lights sound great and i cant wait!

i think BK is a higher quality act than Tomcraft so you all should be thanking your lucky stars! he has produced some good music! maybe not as much as tomcraft but he is a good dj as ive seen him myself!
loves his harder trance edge and likes to drop in some classic oldschool too! has much needed varriety in his sets!

i think BK's greatest work is his remix of Tony De Vit "I Dont Care"
if your able to find a copy of it on the net or something check it out! absolute rave classic!
Some old school mixes eh.......wooohooo
Still excited to dance my ass off
Booo-urns
Tomcraft would've brought a nice touch to Fantasia, that is if he didn't spin another set like his recent Mayday appearance. I don't know about the rest of you but the trackselection really didn't do it for me and his mixing was shoddy, at best. His earlier sets that I've heard, well, that's a different story altogether. If a headliner wants to cancel one of his appearances, I doubt that any effort would've been put toward the set anyway. Good riddence. I say we're better off without him. Over-hyped bastard
Personally, I know little about BK and less about Ascension but somehow I'm confident they're more than worthy replacements. Sure, I was disapointed that Tomcraft cancelled but now I'm actually fervently looking forward to Sunday. All I'm hoping for now is that I can pace myself to have enough energy to show that BK made the right choice in coming to Winnipeg. Well, that and not choking on my hair again; that kinda threw off my rhythm. It wouldn't be 'Fantasia' without Tomcraft but I'd settle for Hardstyle any day.
Salem and Elemental Monks, congrats on coming out on top of the DJCompetition, welcome to the lineup.
Sure, I admit on been a little rough on whats-his-face and he will be missed but that doesn't mean that I wont be ready and able to give the event my all.
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
after tonight, 4 more sleeps,
and good times!

WOOO HOOO I got my vics ready!
