don't be bitter cuz the scene in otown is sucking more dick than the fags at parliment house.
and more importantly don't take out your frustrations on people you don't know over the internet...

Man too bad you guys who have nothing good to say about Orlando aren't putting all that energy into making it better. You don't like Myles? Fine, but at least the kid is out there trying. Do you really enjoy driving three hours or more to go see a good show? There are alot of locals doing alot of good stuff in this town right now who could use the support, not the "this town sucks dick" comments. Especially from you guys who live here....man it is your scene too. If you won't invest your time, energy and money into making your own scene better, why do you expect anybody else to?

now who the fuck are you? myles did you go recruiting people to back you up? just to let you know dude, there are people here who have been supporting the scene in orlando for YEARS (like me) and nothing ever changes. the clubs all close at 3 at best. the good clubs are all switching to hip hop and shit like that. remember when icon played good music everynight? when was the last time icon brought in a good DJ? umm i think ferry corsten about 6 months ago. yeah there are smaller places that will play the music, but nothing big enough to big in quality talent.
of course there are lots of local DJs who spin good tunes and have decent skills on the decks, but what do they get? blue room switched to hip hop. rhythm and flo is about hte best we can muster for a decent club and just the other day chris hand (knightlife) was telling me that the management there wants him to play cheese. WTF? what exactly does a DJ have to look forward to in this town? spinnign at a crappy hole in the wall club or a semi-decent lounge for $100 a night if they are lucky?
just face it bro, the scene here (or whats left of it) just cant hang with miami, there is no comparison. yes i will gladly drive 3 hours there and turn around 12 hours later and drive 3 hours back. hell i live in this city and i party more in miami than i do here. why? ill tell you why. the clubs are 1000x better. the people are 100% cooler. and the atmosphere is completely different. here its like "oh those techno raver kids are at it again" in miami its like "oh you wanna party? ok go all night and have fun."
miami is a real city, with real clubs, and a real vibe to it. orlando? well a big cartoon rodent lives here and thats about all you can say about it. ill tell you when orlando's scene will come back, as soon as Puff Daddy turns EDM into top 40, pop bullshit and clearchannel starts an EDM radio station. until then, this town is too fucking trendy for an underground.
oh and for the record: i dont dislike myles at all. i think hes a great guy who spins great shit, but he shouldnt be fuckin with people he doesnt know. and thats my only beef in this thread.
1 more thing: Jimmy Jostlin still blows elephant nuts.

Someone should link Jimmy "Nevermind the swolen pustulating bumps" Jostlin to this thread. We've all been very creative about his nicknames.

Hi, my name is Sean. I run the SceneOrlando.com website they were talking about a few pages back. You ought to check it out. The site is dedicated to rebuilding the Orlando Scene. I've been a part of the Orlando Scene since 1993....so I've been supporting for the last 12 years or so. I signed on because some people from the website told me there was conversation about it going on. So those people you are talking about who have been supporting the scene for years, you are talking to one. Yes I remember when Icon was bringing in good DJs. Up until 6 months or so ago they were still doing it on Wednesdays and Fridays, but very few people were coming out, and almost none to support the local talent that opened for the headliners, so Icon wasn't making money, so they stopped. Can't blame them. I also remember when Sasha was a monthly resident back at Firestone a decade ago.

Yeah, it is hard right now. Part of the problem is we have an over saturation of clubs to support a scene that has diminished some. I'll tell you what though, if you don't go out and support your local talent, more clubs will switch to different formats, and you can give up on EDM in this town. And you can certainly give up on anybody trying to regularly bring big names back here besides HOB.

Yeah, at the moment Miami is a city that is much more willing to work with the EDM crowd. A big part of that has to do with money. But the people are cooler? Come on man, that is just BS. There are a whole lot of really good and talent people in this town trying really hard to bring serious EDM back. If you don't want to support them, more power to you, but don't shit all over their efforts. At least they are taking ownership of their scene and trying to bring it back.

What do you expect the guy to do? He's out busting his ass trying to bring EDM in Orlando back and all these people are jumping in shitting all over what he is trying to do. What would you do?
