You're asking about Techno on a trance website, don't expect to get many (if any) accurate answers.

Techno is alive and well, look at Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Chris Liebing, Jesper Dahlback Paranoid Jack, even James Holden plays techno...

hmmm Techno is a genre much more "powerful" than trance, therefore I would expect the DJ's to be a bit more abrasive.

Techno is NOT dead. I don't think you know how to listen to it. I get lost in the monotony, in its mundaneness in its re-loop after re-loop (repitition). I give myself up to it. Unlike Trance, I don't need a pretty glittery rainbow melody and lyrics to make me feel.

Lira, excellent post on the machine !!

Techno allows the machine to talk. You just can't handle it or know what it has to say.

There are many minimal techno artists such as Fluxion, Vladimir, Theorem, Scion and Hawtin etc. who are continuing to create a progressive sound through deconstruction of a track and utilizing only that which is necessary.

EDUCATE YOURSELVES.

Haters..
