It's cool, though - I don't care. I was just pointing you in the direction of some actual music discussion because that's what I thought you were actually trying to discuss here.

THe "actual music" discussion you talk about has gone to utter shit over the last two years here. I agree with vtec the only forum the matter for me anymore is the NYTA forum. The production forum is just a place to spam "how do i make that jp8000 supersaw threads" and the music discussion has just gone to the flavor of the moment. When i hear people praising people like Ozgur Can and Probspot for their production ability i know how absolutely clueless the majority really is..

"oh good grief, so this is what the euphoria breakdown ambient mix cds would look like if bedrock was incharge of it. the lone fact that some of the original versions of these songs already sends me to sleep makes me wonder why you need watered down ambient versions"
misc trance addict talking about bedrock's latest compilation.

The majority of this forum has become no better than a britany spears messageboard.

lol

I just listened to cd 1, and its pretty good, nothing that really WOWed me though. The ones i liked the most are Twelve, Arcadia, force of gravity (which is really the only remix of this track i like) and perfect silence. Im on cd 2 right now.

Finally got to listen to both cds. CD 1 is absolutely great! I gotta agree with a lot of other people tho, CD 2 just doesn't feel like an ISOS cd. But then again, no cd tiesto ever makes can compare to masterpiece that is ISOS 2.

Yea. Alot of *good* songs were rejected for this compilation. One of them being Mark Otten - So Serene.

Actually, I highly doubt it, if anything its a smart move for him because what hes seeing is that alot of people are getting into the progressive house tunes. So he twisted his style a bit to fit what the people are liking at the moment without totally escaping the trance sounds. That being said, if anyone is gonna start dropping its gonna be the trance DJs and the progressive house DJs will get a boost.

Honestly, i don't think Tijs really cares what the rest of the world into - prog house, techno, trance or whatever. All I know is he spins only what he likes.
Not to say in public, but i had a pretty long conversation with Tijs after his last show in NYC in February. I (as well as many of others) arrived to Crobar with a certain idea and expectations. I told him that he surprised me by changing his style and playing pretty hard techno stuff. But Tijs didn't even answer to me, all he did that evening was - play new tracks to me and tell how much he liked that stuff. I don't rememeber the tracks but i loved his attitude and excitement when he was showing all this to me.
And def he is not changing his style because he wants to get more fans. He got plenty. And if he is not "the most popular DJ in the World" again, believe me, he won't suffer that much. He is extremely popular not even being the best but he is the best for many people and one of the best for myself.

heard the cds, and liked it but not loved it. i really like "like a waterfall"- very nice opening track. i prefer the 2nd cd except that aqualung track. other than that, it was good.

i heard the isos4 party was great. the tracklist is very nice. hopefully he'll play some isos2 tracks when he comes to miami

ok so i listened to the CD today.

cd 1 is chill. it doesn't MOVE me at all, but it's chill. easy listening, basically.

cd 2 hasn't caught me yet at all. but perhaps it's a cd that will grow on me.

i'll give it a few more listens and see.

overall, my opinion is bland at this point. it's not a disappointment because i didn't have hopes for it but it also doesn't impress me. it's decent. i will have to listen more closely at home rather than at work where i can easily get distracted.

Damn. I was all ready to run out an get this album too. I'll have to stop by Virgin and give it a listen. I've been hearing a lot of eh.... well, I don't wanna call it mediocrity but... I've been hearing a lot of chill tracks lately as far as mixed CD's by various DJ's. I still come across a few tracks that really move me every so often, but that's usually through some kind of trance radio. Hopefully they'll pick it up a little as the summer comes around.

Aah, thanks. I just downloaded it today, and yeah... it's really nice. And that's just it... nice, soothing music. It's like something you'd listen to in the car after a long day of work while driving home. I only just got around to getting Tiesto - Live in Disneyland. I thought that song selection was better, but again, only a few really moving tracks IMO :-\.
