History is written by the winners...

Paraphrasing the authors of The Hiram Key, Christopher

"History isn't often an accurate and comprehensive account of facts, but only what the victor in any given situation has recorded for posterity."

Why bump a dead thread for common sense?

It's funny how we always used to say to use the search feature, that such and such a topic has been covered and that the thread is still there, but when you bring it back up certain people always seem to get their panties in a bunch. lol

Either way, it might be old to you but I was really just getting started

hey! its our favourite prodigal son! he always disappears for a few months and then returns.

anyone willing to bet its due to a stint in the nut house?

Here's some fallen angel or perhaps even the devil, riding upon Fabian gradualism

Here comes those lovely, unfounded ad hominems I didn't expect anything less.

Your quote brought nothing new (or relevant) to this thread. Why choose this thread to post it in other than to bump a dead topic?

The fact that history is written by the victors doesn't add anything original to the discussion of the United States or socialism... and certainly isn't worthy of a six month bump.

Even though you can't destroy the indestructible

So is this still the PDD or has it been converted to a Messageboard Etiquette for Crybabies Forum while I was gone?

I love it how some people go out of their way to try and police what is supposed to be a public forum, let alone one that I've been a part of for several years now.

I didn't even disturb whatever previous softball political discussions you had going so what's the deal?

I didn't think that anyone could be THAT averse to contrary opinions but I guess I was wrong.

My apologies, I wasn't aware that quotes from books separated from any associated context constituted opinion these days.
