I find it hard to take the opinion seriously of anyone who has 'Gabriel & Dresden' down as their favourite 'DJ or Producer.'

Soon a new single of you comes "The OTHER Side". What does it concern in this TRACK? How is it in music developed? Where does the sound direction of you lead in 2005 concerning your DJing and your own productions?
Paul van Dyk:
In order to answer the conclusion question as the first: I think over sowas nicht nach. I do not think strategically, where my sound goes, but I make music with a perceptible background simple and with a clear idea, if I into the studio gehe. Wenn it around things with a certain atmosphere goes, it is usually instrument valley. And if it concerns special topics, participates then also appropriate Lyrics. I was by the piece inspired straight by the giant misfortune in Southeast Asia with the Tsunami. At all came me with question different religions thought that, all the same in which one believes all the same to which God, or whether one at all to God believes, in which second, if someone dies, which stands a close, one would like that it somewhere is, where he well is, where it can make the things 24 hours long, which it made also on earth gladly.
Although I do not believe in God, I hope nevertheless that it humans, whom I let go in my life, well go that they are somewhere well waived. Thus is surely also each Muslim, who loses its nut/mother or his father or child, or each Buddhisten, Christian, catholic or each humans, which hope that it good-goes to those. Therefore it goes also in the Song "The Otherside".

Thread after thread you prove more and more to me that you are EXACTLY the type of person that is turning these forums to shit and contributing to the deconstruction of what music stands for.
You are probably one of the biggest elitists on these boards and it sickens me. I can't stand your blind and ignorant logic most of the time...
DJ Mikey Mike

I'm dying to find a comment to make about you calling Mike 'blind' and 'ignorant' and also calling Shawn Mitiska 'the new face of progressive music' but I just can't seem to do it.
Im pretty sure you just did.
i can groove to it, thats all that matters

It is an "ok" tune, nothing amazing, however PvD HAS produced a LOT better than tracks like the Other Side (Like Mike and Lam had said). I can still party/dance to it but if he comes out with another similarly sounding tune as the Other side or "TOOL" I will shoot myself...ever hear of such a thing as overkill?
I'm a huge PvD fan but c'mon...
At first i completely didn't like this track. Mayby only one nice phrase from vocals. But from the time i heard it life at LFA i started to like this track more and more...it just grew up on me
Beside this, i think it is average production. But it's not crap in compare to most of trance produced nowadays.
Every time a track is produced, it becomes more difficult to produce another.
Melodies don't last forever, and melodies are the most important parts of the song, if you ask me. It's the bit that makes the track unique.
You're probably gonna have to get used to worse melodies than before, with exceptions of a few.
ALTHOUGH, some producers/tracks brings new ingredients to the world.
I'd like to point out Space Guitar (Mostly LNQ remix) a sweet track that brought new ingredients to the trance scene.
Remixing tracks from other genres is a good way too.
Please dont hate me for saying this, but that's just my theory.
The Martin Roth mix does it for me, incredible. Sounds great loud.
Havent heard the Deep Dish mix but their music isnt for me anyway
I've only heard the original and deep dish remix... well all I have to say, is that I DO like them both!!!
It's just hilarious to see some many people complaining of how bad this track is, when they cannot even produce a decent fart!
Cheers
Heard the PVD mix for the first time saturday night at Energy. This tune is sooooo annoying...I mean , how many time should I stopped to dance with all theses breaks in there. I thought it will never end, bleh

i found the interaction between mikey and the other character to be quite amusing
imo paul has produced several tracks better than for an angel
though its also my opinion that over the past few years hes seriously gone downhill in production terms, crush being the only thing that comes to mind, that i like, in at least the past 3 years
have only heard the roth and deep dish mixes of this tune
i think they're ok, nothing special, nothing horrible
just have to be in the right mood for them
