yeah I agree that Sasha is very overrated. He gets MUCH more credits than he deserves. But at least he doesnt play cheese as Tiesto

Posted by nchs09 on Jul-08-2005 22:14:

it simple. tiesto is good. sasha is good. pvd is good.

stop bitching @ each other.

i personally dislike those 3 above. but doesnt take away their talent.

oh wait cheese? i dunno any cheese songs recently and back in the day. only songs got cheesy to me when they were overplayed. i can always listn to alot of cheesy tunes as poeple call them and think they are fine its just whne they are overplayed.

Aiwendil is Radagast, if that's what you're referring to.

Fuck me. Seven pages of bitching! Get over it. Some people like things and some people don't.

Just to add to the debate though, PVD said in an interview that he hated when people said that stuff like Ian Van Dahl is trance. He said, and I agree with this one, that its Euro-Pop. Not trance.

So on my view, all the DJ Sammy nonsense (for me) isn't cheesey trance. It's cheesey Euro-Pop. But I suppose they're the same thing, just a different name. So what the fuck am I on about? I don't know. Shut the fuck up! Dickhead!

in other words we can say that PVD - nothing but you is europop as well?
there are lots of similarities

To you yes.

I quite like the song to be honest.

But then again I'd say this was definately made as a trance record. So I'd say this was cheesey trance. Rather than Euro-pop.

I don't suppose it really matters though what u classify it as. Just whether u like it or not. I mean, if someone says to me that Out Of The Blue is cheesey trance, then it's not gonna stop me liking it. I think they're wrong, they think i'm a twat, they probably listen to someone just to be cool rather than what they like.

What I find funny is that if people had done what the original thread starter asked, the bitching and general kindergarden attitudes probably wouldn't have appeared.

People find different things cheesy, I happen to not find Andain - Beautiful Things cheesy at all, perhaps a tad commercial, but not a sound I equate with cheesy, which tends to be more about melodies that are 5 octaves too high and very bad lyrics.

Whilst not conventional cheese (sammy, lasgo, etc), it certainly has alot of cheesy overtones from the vocals to the melody.

Doesn't mean I don't like it.

One more to add:

Blank & Jones - Mind Of The Wonderful

Cheezplz

Posted by iammesol on Jul-09-2005 00:57:

This thread is nothing but a flame war, but i'll say

AvB - Shivers
DJ Sammy period
Scooter period

Overplayed?....
Too Commercialize?
Too little Effort on the song??

Too much vocals?

Defenatly too much vocals with STUPID lyrics, like "i want to fly with you in heaven now" or "lets build a castle in the sky" and such

I don't see anything wrong with too Commercialize to be honest.

that being said, even i like a few songs by him or.. whoever he payed to produce the songs. anyway.. cheese:

dj sammy
groove coverage
scooter
green court
ian van dahl

actually... pretty much any "uplifting" or vocal trance is considered cheesy but i'll just stick to the above mentioned as.. the cheesiest of teh cheese

Says you.

That should be your top 10. There is no universal fact about who are the top 10 DJ's that everyone will agree on.
