this is cold hard fact

butcher has spent the last 12 months getting out cheaply, he's a liability and Bell has far more natural talent, which in time (and only by giving him a run in the team) will lead to him being an important member. it's the wicket keeping that worries me most, plus the form of flintoff with the bat and vaughan who i think needs to open again

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE

lay off the crack a minute sid, I said 'IF' it was 5-0 we'd move to world number 1 in the rankings, that was the only way it could happen from this series alone, however after 2 poor bats on a bad pitch you can't write us off yet, we will come back, and Harmison showed in the first day that not all your players are on great form. However I never expected us to beat you 5-0 and nor did anyone, all I want is for us to compete more with you, and overall this summer we have done so more than a lot of aussies expected.

I love how the poms thought they were kingshit after bowling us out for 190 in the first innings then they failed to reach that total in both of theirs.

Posted by Simon00 on Jul-25-2005 02:29:

Maybe if Pietersen spent less time on his application of hair products and more time learning how to take a catch things may have been a bit different. Im surpirsed all the catches didnt stick considering the combo of gel, mousse, wax and his own come that must cover his hands.

you wouldnt make such a comment if you didnt believe there was some truth behind it, otherwise your lips would have been sealed. But hey optimisim is the only you guys have going for you at the moment!lol

seriously, we have to believe we can win the series 5-0, simply because anyone who doesn't have that confidence or belief shouldn't be in the side, you ask any aussie player if they can win 5-0 and they'd say "hell yea" we need that positive thinking, and now some positive batting to go with it. Hoping the weather picks up so we can have some better matches on better pitches

Bolton have a better chance of winning the premiership than England do of taking a test off Australia

Ian begins to recite "Milli Vanilli - Blame It On The Rain"

"Blame it on the rain Yeah, Yeah............"

"The other advantage England have got when Phil Tufnell is bowling is that he isn't fielding" -Ian Chappell

hmmmmmm, with some of England fielding performances in that test, maybe Tufnell's not the best option..........

hahaha lol

you can't axe dizzy, or at least not until someone else takes up the mullet!

he may of dropped a few catches but regardless pietersen is still a fucking star and look out he is only getting started. i see a big test career ahead of him. i think he should be coming in at number 3 like many of the great batsmen instead of michael vaughn. at least then his partners will stick around long enough for him to make a ton.

i still think we have a chance if our bowlers keep creating the opportunities they have been and the batters borrow some confidence from kev!

i still think they should ask my fav player darren gough to come back to replace hoggard or giles. he didnt have a good one day series but hey it was the start of the summer and he wasnt 100% fit. he is very similar in bowler in pace and line to hoggard just has the experience to really trouble the australian lower order which tends to hang around. plus he is very handy with the bat and has a similar attitude to pietersen when batting against australia.

i know he has retired but bring back Gough!!!

Posted by Az on Jul-26-2005 16:45:

I'd be mightily tempted to swap Collingwood for Giles.
He's as economical a bowler, far superior batsmen (he's hit 344 runs in his past 2 county innings), and his fielding is incredible

point, the problem is the selectors would more likely bring someone shit like robert key in

Posted by TCB on Jul-27-2005 11:55:

i think the media should put some more pressure on the selectors like they did with pietersen. get them to take a risk. i never considered it until you mentioned it. forgot about the poor guy. but hey i agree paul collingwood should definately replace giles. more attacking bowler and way better batsman. agreed.
