too bad spirit is whack and doesnt allow glowsticks otherwise i'd be there with a ton of other people blowin everyone up having a great time...

guess we'll just have to wait for the roxy pvd party for sick music and the glowstick priveledge combination

Posted by arturob on Sep-21-2005 00:05:

do you really not go to a party because the venue doesn`t allow glowstix ? that's ridiculous.

Posted by JiN on Sep-21-2005 00:11:

yup it kills the vibe. what's ridiculous is that they dont even allow them in the first place. strings i understand being hazardous, but regular freehanding? it doesnt make sense, spirit's management is just a bunch of uptight pricks or something its the only club in the city that gives you a hard time about it...

Posted by arturob on Sep-21-2005 00:19:

heh,,, usually because it's associated to bad things.

I would be there around 10pm I think the club opens at 10:30-11 but, parking is always a bitch in nyc. If you get there by this time you can usually find parking at.... i think its 25st, thats where i usually park. if you park at a garage yo are gonna easily spend at least $35+
but everytime i go to spirit i always find parking so just get there early.

To put this argument away once and for all, I am really not sure where people got the idea of NU NRG playing a live PA for more than an hour (I dont think they have enough tracks to play longer) I got the response from the boys themselves saying they will be playing FOR AN HOUR from 2 to 3 (with the variation of 10 mins in either direction). And I got the response from Perry O'Neil and he said he is still waiting to hear about his time but he is pretty sure he is spinning before NU NRG and M.I.K.E.

So my opinion about set times is as follows:

Perry O'Neil - 12-2
NU NRG - 2-3
M.I.K.E. - 3-5(6)

Show up early aroung 10-10:30 pm. Actually I think you can pick them up @ Satellite on Bowery right off Houston and I think it closes at like 9 pm. So if you want you can make an evening in the city. Parking is NOT as expensive as people say. In fact if you have a crew with you just ask them to share the financial burden of parking fees and it will come out to about $5 a head. Street-wise its hard to find parking. DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF SPIRIT. My boy once got towed from there because they have a trully NYC style sign that you dont see only AFTER you get the ticked or get towed. Also dont park between 11th & West Side highway (not safe). And remember, since this area now is a concentration of night spots (Crobar, Spirit, Status Quo, Marques, etc) finding parking is a bit of a challenge so be prepared to walk. There is parking on 25th and on the same block as Crobar (I dont recommend it because it is twice as expensive).

1)If you still have the opportunity, but them on ticketweb. Of if u dont mind spending the extra $4-$5 just get there by 10pm to be sure you gain entry.

2) Hit West 25th ST. I always park there. never a problem. If there is, try one block over (26th). Or go backwards to each ST. Or you can pay for parking, which I avoid usually.

3) If you follow 2, you wont need 3 but as far as parking goes, I dunno a price

http://www.satelliterecords.com/live/index.php

Probably the most famous record store in NYC. There you can get tickets as well. The gas now is about 3.49 for 93 (Premium) could variate lower or higher since I didnt fill up for a few days.

Just got back home. Had an awesome time. Will have some pics up later. Nu NRG owned that place. Perry and Mike were great as well.

But umm....I lost my bookbag earlier there, so if anybody happened to find a black nike sports bag, I would glady appreciate if you would hit me up with any info. I had many important school/work documents in it. thanks :-/.
