I like Desyn, OS 0.1 was great. I was really looking forward to this album. I like a lot of the tracks, but to me, they just don't flow together. Someone was saying earlier that they loved how there were so many different genres and styles thrown in. The problem is, you can't take tracks from several genres, throw them into a hat and pull them out at random. I thought the transition from Halcyon to Spirals - X was bad. It changed the mood TOO much and got way too peppy all of a sudden, as my girlfriend put it when we were listening to it last night. We turned it off 45 minutes in and listened to Zabiela's Part Zero mix, instead (which I had listened to earlier at work and knew she'd enjoy).

I also don't really like diva housey sounding Moloko - Cannot Contain This, but that's just my own personal thing with the diva sound.

You and your girlfriend listen to EDM together to analyze it?

GIMME!

this compilation is sick, specially cd 2...
it would have been better if he would have included some of the tracks he has been playing lately, like casa de x, harmony of soul, piano track and that stuff from his EM and other sets...
but besides that, no complains...

wow looks tiiiight!!! i will be grabbin this, tracklisting looks close to one of my mixes... rene amesz makes it on, i've been hammering most of his productions for a while, mint stuff i cannot believe they don't see more play with other DJ's... and a revival of the old soulsearcher track?? i gotta hear this...

I love Renes stuff. Im really into Im Your Doctor right now, its a pretty slick track. And the Ep with I like Sex on it, that was good stuff. On topic, this cd rocks. Right now Im loving the first one more but they are both quality. Its about time Desyn gets some recognition

+2..spirals into halcyon was terrible..mixing was ugly as hell. also do agree..didndt like track 4 at all either. not a fan of diva vocals either. also the mastering ont his cd is pretty bad to..its all way too high and mid range oriented..hurts my ears lol. other then that..decent cd..some good ch00ns..havent listend to disc 1 yet..

Posted by oleshka on Oct-05-2005 03:24:

I love the tunes on both CDs for the most part... a nice variety of sound

Though not a fan of disc 2 because of reasons in my previous post, I liked disc 1 at first listen. Also, I do like most of the individual tracks in disc 2, just not the flow of it. I did like the mixing into Coburn - We Interrupt this Program, though.

I think the way Desyn sways a little from one genre to another while keeping a flow to be part of his style and appeal, a real MIX Cd.

Dealer's Choice - Bomb The Place is fucking mint.
Love the almost Trancy element in it -kinda - reminds me of... I think it's Surreal - Radicals or maybe Free Radical from a ways back.
