Dude this shit might me a joke to you. But to me is not, i fukin care about those peep, its terrible man. You can view this issue as a joke or w,e have you, but im trying to make a point on a serious issue and all you do is talk crap. Your lucky that Katrina didnt do shit here, comparing to NO and you are just there sittin on the comp talking shiet, come on man! If you have something good to contribute to this topic, please do so, if not keep the comments to yourself.

I also care... because this could had easily been Miami.. I live on the beach, so that storm suge of 25 feet would have wiped out my high rise building.

Its obvious that 1/2 of us has different views.. and they are all valid points and views... but this topic was about Michael Moor pulling this letter out of his ass... and sending it to every news organization across the world... just to take a jab at the republican party... thats bullshit. Worry about politics after the facts... for whomever gets the blame... worry about that shit later... In the meantime, we have cities wiped out, people dying, people homeless, people with no jobs, people with no nothing. Sure.. there were things that went wrong.. but im going to stick by the president on this one.. because they really are doing everything they can possibly do... its a HUGE project.

Well Felipe i think that the buses had probably been there, im sure that in NO they have Bus companies, like Coach and all that crap that are available for use, or maybe as you know they have sports team and shiet and they probably use their transportation to move the people. But note these type of transporations are in New Orleans already, i think. I doubt that they are coming from outside. Bush is going to give like $10bn of aid, correct me if im wrong i think its more, but remember the process of aid is sometimes takes a bit long, because it has to pass through congress, especially when dealing with money, if you understand politics you get what i mean. But since bush is also the commander and chief, YES he was slow regarding sending navy ships and w.e have you to assist the people

Bro I dont know where you are getting your sources.. but IM sure is not from any of the media. Buses are coming from outside, how the heck do you think they are getting to Sant Antonio and Dallas Texas?!?!.. Tourists gathered 25,000 dollars to get buses and get them out of there. Did you know that?? .. Guess you didnt.

Obviously this is not all Bush's fault or even much his fault at all (i gotta admit that as much as i think Bush is the worst president of my lifetime) The fed is doing the best it can (under Bush the best isn't that good), but they are trying to help out of course.
The one thing that gets me though is this:
quote:
And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

It's true that the Bush admin has done this, they possibly would have had reinforced levees had it not been for this. Just goes to show you the consequences of neglecting your own country to rebuild some peice of shit country on the other side of the world. STUPID!

But the fact is the New Orleans and Lousianna state government is stupid as fuck for not having disaster plans for this, like pretty much anywhere in Florida does. The fact that they even built a city below sea level with such vulnerability, to not have solid plans is pure neglegence. And mayor Nagin is a fuckin idiot who just keeps whining "oh come help us" "oh the fed isn't doing enough", ever think you are the one who should be doing something mr. mayor? or better yet who should have done something years ago.

No doubt Bush's continued neglect has probably made a bad situation worse, but the fed is doing the best they can and a releif effort of this magnitude doesnt happen overnight.

PatMcGroin you said that bush is sitting on his ass while people suffer...what are you doing? i believe you were sitting on your ass typing that so don't judge someone if you are doing the same thing. Bush is sitting on his ass because he's telling people what to do thats his job. What is he going to do by himself in new orleans?nothing, his job is to be a leader and show people what they should do to help. Liquidx they cant make drops in the superdome the thing is virtually inhabitable. It has no power, it is wet and dark. Can you imagine how hot is in there and i'm sure mold is already forming which can make people sick, it is not a good place. People seriously will kill for water and food there is a right way to do provide supplies so although it is a time of desperation there has to be common sense and patients on how to provide relief. and as far as michael moore he is a douchebag trying to be cooler than everyone by raising controversy people the movie he made of 911 was FICTION!!! it is not a documentary with accurate information!!!! get a clue the guy just wants drama

no it's not really bush's job. it's their local government's job. President already has a lot of shit on his hands, and it's nice of him to go out on a limb to help. That's like saying it's the state trooper's job to stop a local bank robbery. No, not really, it's the local police's job.

I don't know why we're arguing this over the internets....

i cant tell you how many fucking times i saw on the weather channel (before katrina hit)..."THIS WILL BE A CATASTROPHE." i'm no meterologist, but i think i know storms pretty damn well and i knew this shit was going to happen. they talked about new orleans being below sea level being a problem for atleast a full day all over the news before the storm hit. how come it took bush THREE FUCKING DAYS to get off his ass and realize there was a problem.

all i'm saying is, with A LITTLE bit of planning before the storm hit A LOT of these people could of been saved of the pain they are going through right now. and thats why bush is an idiot. EVERYONE knew it was going to be this bad, and it still took 3 fucking days after the fact for it to sink into bush's retarded ass head!

Hmm what sort of planning would you suggest?

its sad if the president has alot of shit on his hands that he cant put them aside and make this his frist priority

and as it has been said before on this thread. a local goverment has no means to handle this kind of disaster.

its NICE of him? dude are you kidding me. ya i guess its nice for him to take a day out of his life and job to come and visit and make plans . super cool guy. and SO giving. plz get real.

god, if i had a nickel for everytime i've heard that i'd be able to buy myself some cute new shoes. and to answer your question, yeah, probably...but i wont speculate as far as you have.

bush spent the past month on vacation at "the ranch," amidst two wars that he initiated. guess he needed some r & r. and it's not just michael moore and other confessed shit-stirrers who are bitching and wondering wtf is going on in the gulf...it's the actual people in the affected areas (citizens and politicians alike). and screw the sniper shooting...they have combat helos. lol. it is good to see that some national guardsmen/women are arriving, along with the 10.5 billion from congress. sad to hear that a shitload of the army corps of engineers are in iraq, dealing with the insurmountable problems we have there.

regardless, bush has a texas size load on his plate. i wonder how he's going to handle this (as he looks down from his air force one window).

well it's pretty sad that we have a lot of shit on our hands we can't help. All you guys are doing is plaing the blame game, and for one thing I'm not going to blame anybody. If you feel the president's not doing his job, do your part. I know you can't afford to get choppers out there, but the least you can do is make a donation to an organization you trust will help, or go out there and assist the aiding.

I'm no Bush groupie either, but I'm not too fond of people just blaming him like if he's supposed to be God and can do anything anytime, while the critics just sit there and do nothing.

I agree. Bush is shirking his responsibilities, whether they are the wars he initiated or whether it's this. He's not cut out to be a leader. Everything stresses him, therefore he's always on vacation. My argument was just that everyone blames him for not doing anything, when the critics haven't really left their chair to do much. Maybe Kerry would have done better, maybe not.

I agree with this one.

The internets is no place for arguments.

it's a lie The temperature of the earth varies from time to time.. It's just that currently it's heating up, but nature and time has their way of cleaning herself up (this hurricane was an example). Can't fuck with nature y0...

Don't believe all that environmental propaganda on TV.
