I've mentioned it in before in my longer catalogue as well. Absolutely stunning album mate.Emotion varies from tune to tune. From absolute delirium to major depression! And people, Sasha's albums are probably mediocre or even bad i would say! (but what can you do if the only thing you listen to is fu*cking progressive trash and you thing that its cool!!!).

Don't remember quite how that one sounds, but I do like From Within III very much.

You know I've refrained from mentioning it because it's hip-hop, and you get burned at the stake on TA for bigging hip-hop but it's so fucking good I will anyway:

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing

can these albums be mixes such as like DJ Tiesto - Magik 7 or some s*** like that?

No. He's an artist album-centric kind of guy.

Several mix-albums have been mentioned already though, and in my opinion rightfully so, a mix album can be as great as an artist album if done properly.

Don't go along the lines of Magik 7 though.

Yeah. 10 or so of 2001's big trance hitters and The Prophet to top it off.

I've never heard any really genius mixes though.

Most of the ones I was going to suggest have already come up:

Global Communication - 76 14
Underworld - Secondtoughestintheinfants
BT - ESCM
Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman
Union Jack - There Will Be No Armageddon
Chicane - Far From The Maddening Crowds
Terra Firma - Turtle Crossing

Moby's had a couple of mentions as well but I'm such a big fan I'd say all his albums have been masterpieces, even Animal Rights. But then I'm biased. He could probably release a car alarm as an album but I'd find hidden depths in it.

Only two album I'd say are masterpieces I've not seen listed yet:

Bassheads - C.O.D.E.S.
Art Of Trance - Wildlife On One

C.O.D.E.S isn't just a case of being Is There Anybody Out There and some other tracks, it's like this entire 90 minute trip through loads of different styles, even including this 23 minute ambient tune that's just sublime. As for Wildlife On One, it was probably the best of all the Goa/trance crossover albums of that period (along with Moment Of Truth) and still sounds fresh even now.

True, it's gotta have something really special in order for a DJ mix to be regarded as a masterpiece (by me, at least). The only thing coming close is Hawtin's DE9 series, which I've already mentioned on the first page of this topic. Can't really think of any others though, at the moment.

UNKLE - Psyence fiction

This album is madness.
