I remember blasting these the night of the world series for the blue jays in 93' LOL!

As long as you're not saying 2 Unlimited are not one hit wonders Dannyboy!!!!

That would be a disgraceful statement to make!

(Hell, even the 2 chicks that were 2 Unlimited II, they were more than one hit wonders, even though they sucked horribly when compared to the original 2 Unlimited.

omg

someone give me a gun to shoot myself ASAP

Filter??one hit wonder???holy shit..

Filter came out with 3 albums

songs of theirs that were huge:
Hey Man, Nice Shot
Take My Picture
Best Things
Welcome to the fold
Jurasitol

all which have crazy videos...

+ they had 2 tracks on movie soundtracks:
One (X-Files: the movie)
Trip Like I Do (performed with crystal method)(Spawn Soundtrack)

next in queue:
ah yes.. Placebo...

HELLOOOOOOOO these guys (or queers or whatever u wanna call em) were HUGE

another really fuckin big tune of theirs that u guys GOTTA know is "Every Me, Every You" i think it was featured on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack as well

next:
2 Unlimited = one hit wonderS?? which planet was the person who posted that living on back in the 90s?
im not even gonna start naming how many hits they had...they slowly died off several years later when the 2 singers were replaced

next:
Ace Of base??? oh geez...these people are classic....considered as the ABBA of the 90s, made several top 10 hits. The sign was what shot them to fame..

next:
Semisonic....now thats debatable since they did have a few tracks out there that were pretty sweet and they actually didnt want all the fame and all so they slowly died out of the scene...however, listen to their self titled album...its worth a BUY actually

to end this all

can someone PLEASE define "one hit wonders" for me?

Let's make sure we call everyone out.

I'll handle those who claim one-hit wonders of old skool euro tracks - you'll handle the rest

(doing a great job thus far - me = impress )

A one hit wonder is describe as a artist/band/whatever who made it to the top 10 in the U.S.A. once and then never made it back to the top 10 ( or it might be top 20 not sure exactly )

Since Americans have completly and uterly no taste in music whatsoever, most of the good artists are one hit wonders

lol..yea i think i mentioned that joke of a song earlier in the thread..

but cmon..u gotta admit...was a catchy song

Butthole surfers are nowhere near one hit wonders. They've had a whole buncha tracks released on various compilations as well - on MI2 soundtrack, and Shame of Life "I love the girls, and the money, and the shame of liiiiiife".

But I'm starting to think that the term "One Hit Wonder" seems to be a little bit subjective...

I've got a friend who looks EXACTLY like jimmy ray. in fact, once he came over to visit, and my sister couldn't remember his real name, so she called him jimmy ray... he hasn't gotten out of it since

no shit eh??

looks like just cos people havent seen the name out much means the artist is a one hit wonder...

obviously these people dont have a variety of music in their life to be familiar with the numerous names out there

Well I would walk 500 miles
and I would walk 500 more
just to be the man who walked 1000 miles
to fall down at your door.

TKO!

Most of them are just listing what they've seen on Much Music's "One Hit WOnders" I'm sure...

The best was the episode where they had Limp Bizkit listed as a one-hit wonder with "Faith".

Much Music is fuckin' sad.

Frankie Goes To Hollywod - Relax.... now I know that the whole welcome to the Pleasdome album was decent from a club culture standpoint & especially in remixed forms blah blah blah ...but seriously ... is there a bigger & more frequently played one for it's comedic properties as a one hit wonder ... I think not.

Posted by The Ear on Oct-29-2005 21:45:

please edit spelling of the preceding post accordingly

Neither Rockell nor Sonique are one hit wonders. I'm willing to bet Olive had a few other hits in Britain as well.

Posted by Adamo on Oct-29-2005 22:41:

one hit wonders are the best. Way better then artists who go on year after year making shitty music.

Heart and Soul - T'pau

Posted by m2j on Oct-31-2005 19:54:

this is not my favorite one hit wonder... infact i hate the damn thing... but i still feel like it should be mentioned, lol

i think the song was by "Jimmy Ray"
the song had the annoying vocals that went: "Are you jimmy ray?... Who wants to know... who wants to know... who wants to know about meeeeeeeeeee?" repeating over and over.

lol, fuckin hilarious
