There should be a fat person section in the back somewhere, thats where the fog machine should be pointed so nobody has to see that shit

If I owned a club it would be attractive people only! I would love to see who would try to come inside!

I don't want to sound like miss goody-humanitarian, but I always thought it would be cool to have a club that's run by United Way or another great charity and all profits from all their events go to different charitable causes.

You could have huge events, too. Sponsors are all over charity events, and especially dance related events.

Anyone want to start it with me?

Posted by TRANCEEEE on Dec-04-2005 05:47:

^^^
i swear i was gonna say the same !
its would definitely attract alot of people ...
+ money from sponsors
a mix of local talents + international Djs once the events pick up +++++
Outdoors mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
i've yet to experience an outdoor EDM event =(

We used to throw dances to raise money for our Young Liberal Party that I belonged too. Also for our Junior Achievement program as well (I was a busy boy during my highschool years)

I liked the idea of people my age being involved in something that matters to millions and can make a difference.

Me and a couple of other guys would DJ - everyone had fun - WIKKID music and we were contributing enmass for something we believe in.

Your idea is an excellent one.

The marketability would be great I think - I would rather my club entrance or portion of be for the greater good of people who suffer.

When I am in the "zone" of a good head space on the dancefloor with great music playing - WOW......

Everyone should be able to experience the same type "feeling" that I am at that moment - in whatever setting it can happen for them.

That joyous feeling can come from so many areas in one's life.......a roof over your head, food in your stomach, a good nights sleep, an understanding look, kind words and respect, a remission of a disease, the ability for your child to recieve education. There are many reasons to give to charities - they help people who do not even have the options of security with the above mentioned areas.

When I am "investing" in my evening of CLUB/DJ/MUSIC/DANCING experience with my cover charge - it would be nice to know that I am also investing on a greater level for a greater good.

We have the ability to affect massive change but need to find common ground that binds us in our efforts.

I really cant see how Chiclets option would be negative in any way - it would be an amazing propostion that is totally do-able........nice post!!

I would love to be a part of something like this.

How bout a club that is high in a building at least +10 floors up so you have a nice panoranic views of the skyline and lake. With large windows of course.

Would make a refreshing change since clubs are usually in basements.

I would also like to stay away from the boxy looking design. Arched ceilings would be def,

I always loved club nights in buildings that served other purposes were always my favorite. like churches, Victorian theatres,
palaces, underground tunnels, they make great venues

hmmm....define gino, please....and dont use the tired examples ie: iroc, woodbridge, honda civic....etc etc...cause I am pretty sure people who are "ginos" love their trance, but just love it a differant way.

As for me, I think a club on a plane would be pretty messed up...imagine a flight to Ibiza with massive music, partying, drinks, (all you can drink) for 7 hours then you land and they you do it all over again.....it would be nice.

Hmm when I open up my club their will be a giant hole that you enter called The Dark Room...and it'll be pitch black minus the dark blue sketch lights on the floors <3

damn... thats pretty big space... seems like a pretty good idea
i'd definitely check out a club like that.

are there any clubs in Toronto that are built in buildings that served other purposes?

This is a pretty good idea for a thread.

How bout increasing hospitality???

I remember at a festival, I went to in Holland, they had barmaids with tanks on Heiniken strapped to their backs. They would walk around the dance floor and give people refills with a nozzle attached to the tank.

Pretty cool idea. It would prevent crowded bars and wasted minutes bumping through crowds for a drink.

Posted by Cribby on Dec-05-2005 02:49:

Hmm...REAL themed rooms would be cool...like a room that actually looks like a jungle with waterfalls and all :P

im willing to be that this would be illegal here somehow. With the crappy liquor laws we have now im surprised we are even allowed to have nightclubs

all of them

the only building i know of in toronto that was built specifically to be a club was MEOW. Then the city shut it down and it was demolished.

The only other club that is in "virgin space" is Republik. ALthough that space wasnt built specifically for a club, Republik is the only thing that has ever occupied it.

Posted by tempoman on Dec-05-2005 03:21:

A club on the moon where the hottest people in the solar system come to party.

I just had a crazy idea:

Every night, on the dance floor, the club puts down Bubble Wrap! Then you can hear/feel the rhymth of the crowd dancing!

Not the most practical idea, but still fun... if I ever throw a house party, im gonna cover my living room floor with bubble wrap!
