I still think girls are better than guys this year.

I actually don't really care, I'm just waiting for the new Van Halen You Can be a Rockstar series, like they did with Inxs.

It's not going to be for a new singer for an old band, tho. It's a band from scratch this time. Not fully confirmed, but Van Halen said "no" as did Queen.

I prefer the girls' performances.... I don't get a kick out of watching the guys' episodes. ONly a girl can take my breath away.

I like Brenna Gethers for her spunky personality. Not the best singer, but I love her personality... great ALL-AROUND PACKAGE. She kisks ass. (oh, literally... blackbelt in shotokan karate)

Lisa Tucker is the gem I feel needs to be discovered. very skilled.

Paris Bennett... She's amazing, but dunno if I feel she belongs in this contest. The contest is for people who need to be discovered... to find that new star.... She's openned for lil bow wow (or whatteva he's called nowadays), so he carreer is already on the road, so the show should be for undiscovered amateurs, not up and comers.

Heather Cox??? What the ---- is she doing on this show? porn stars (or people with their names) shouldn't be on a family show. You can't get in life on looks alone, and this girls hasn't learned it yet.

Which brings me to my last banter... It is unfortunate that it's all of America that votes for the idols. The only time America got it right was with Kelly Clarkson. Voting for the best skilled doesn't make a star, an idol, or what have you. A true idol needs to be a complete package, looks, personality, style and skill. You need a high score in all of the above traits, you can't exceed at just a couple of them.

*hangs up mike, and walks off stage*

I very much agree with you, Ab, about what the idol should be. There have been times when people are voted off the show because they "don't fit the image" and they're truly talented and passionate people (i'm thinking jennifer houston (?) from season three, when fantasia won - not that fantasia wasn't bad, but jennifer deserved to be in the top 4). America's making it out to be more of a beauty pageant than a talent thing.

I'm excited to watch tonight, though, and see if the right people go through. I'll be very upset if Katharine or Lisa don't make it.

And yes, Canadians>Americans. Always.

Regarding the Canadan>American talent issue.... I'll have to say that I actually do like, and have like only one Canadian Idol dude. and that is this guy....



Jacob ruled, he had the most charisma and talent I have ever seen on either Canadian or American Idol, and if he was on the AMerican version, he would have kicked so much ass.

I also had a chance to say hi to him while he was at the CNE. He was so cool, and ready for stardom.

WHY is Kevin "Chicken Little" Covais STILL on the show?!?!?! He's got the worst, cracking voice of all- yet Randy & Paula keep praising him. Ok, the 'pass the underdog to the next level' thing was ok for the 1st elimination, but this is ridiculous. He wasn't even in the bottom 3 this week. What are people thinking??

How is Bucky still on the show? Him and his twin brother are butt ugly for starters. And ew. In general.

I like Mandisa and Paris, but Paris' style is very old fashioned blues/jazz which is why she was so good last night.

I like the rocker dude, but he was a little off key at times. Loved his rocked out version of Walk the Line by Johnny Cash, tho.

And these kids don't know who Barry Manilow is really.

Someone tell me why this guy is still on the show???

My sister taped it for me last night, so before rehearsal I'm going to watch it, and then she's gonna let me know how tonight goes as well since I'll be back in rehearsal again.

I've never liked Kevin, I've always wanted Gedeon to be in his place. I thought that kid was talented.

LOL I didn't htink it was scary, I thought it was sincere. Did you see how CRUSHED he looked when Simon said that? I felt terrible for him
