Well, I arrived just after 11pm to find the place pretty packed, awesome turn out.
Sound in that club is absolutely nuts, loooots of bass, but nice crisp clean sounding that doesn't leave your ears ringing when you leave.
Visuals were in full effect and the crowd had tons of energy.
Steve laid it down with his melodic upbeat trance. Had TONS of good buildups and he seemed to be having a good time. That man gets RIGHT into his sets and is EXCELLENT with getting the crowd into it.
Once again big ups to Union, thanks for having me out yet again.
All in all, a fantastic night!!
Next up, ANDY MOOR April 1st.
i thought the turn out was very good considering cyber was competing with the huge amount of people who showed up for top40 at plush and that this is only a 3rd union night at the club
i just hope none of those rowdy drunks made their way into cyber. saw 2 instances of people raising hell in the 10 minutes i was outside with angelo. no wonder that place is getting a bad rep
finally an artist with tracks that make me want to say ID ID WHAT IS THAT ID. ANd i know you all noticed the techno. Tech trance is it. Live with it.
Ascension - Someone (Thrillseekers remix) ONOYOUDIANT
Steve played some great classics. Can I say Carte Blanche?
He also played one of my favourites, Active State - The Search For Freedom.
...but that DJ groupie was pretty annoying. I thought everyone already knew that MC'ing doesn't go with trance events. That especially goes to that guy that got even on Andy Moor's nerves last time. No one could hear you anyway...
The sound system was indeed nice, though the highs got a little bit too piercing by the end of the night.
I think that everyone left happy, including Steve.
Thrillseekers ft Gina Dootsen (spelling?) - By Your Side
Carrie Skipper - Time Goes By (Super8 Bangin' Mix)
Tiesto ft Allure - The Love We Lost (Original)
Ascension - Someone Like You (Remix?)
Vera Cocha - Carte Blanche
*added - i forgot about til after*
Salt Tank - Eugina (Original)
Marco V - False Light (remix)
and the last track (both encores were killed) I want to say was Thrillseekers - Dreaming Of You (2005/06 remix?)
Thanks to everyone who came out for this!
I would like to appologize for the shananagins in the dj booth and talking over. I can personally guarantee you that will will never happen again when we have a guest DJ. I don't even like talking on the mic myself, but hopefully I didn't annoy too many of you as I try to keep it as simple and short as possible. The moral of this stroy is drunk people shouldn't be allowed to talk on the mic and groupies should always be kept out of the booth!
As for Steve... What a great set!!! Really nice how he threw in some classics, don't see too many of the big names doing that these days. The man had an amazing amount of energy, nevermind he only had 3hrs sleep + 3 gigs in 3 nights... amazing!
As for me I would have loved to open the night up, but everyone has to take some time off. I'll definitely be opening things up for Andy Moor on April 1st, and of course we are B2B all night with Motana & Res every Saturday.. hope to see you guys out nxet week!
Other tunes from Steve:
4 Strings- Into The Night (Original Mix) <-----
Ascension- Someone (Thrillseekers Remix) <----- These two ch00ns made my night
Sam Sharp- Deep
What an awesome night!! Thrillseekers, definately bring the thrill all right!
When we arrived at the beginning sound was horrible. After DSLd00d (your resident Evolve tech.. lol) arrived, we went bak and adjusted the EQ to reflect electronic music, more so than what the rocker dude set it for which was alternative music.
After that, the subs were pounding, and the vocals were nice and clean
Love the lights in there, awesome lighing setup & laser. However, I only wish the person who programmed those moving heads knew wtf they were doing, because they don't have any coreography at all.
Excuse me, im the nazi when it comes to proper setups at shows
Major props UNION! That was awesome show though! Best trance eva!

oh man i had such a good time!! i cant belive he played carte blanche!! what a shame that they cut his 1st encore short, a remix of eugina.
steve was having an awesome time and dropped loads of classics. too bad it had to end at 2.30? arent clubs allowed to stay open 'till 3?
i got a flyer signed too, and told him that his set was awesome
EDIT: insead of a 3hour armin set for $50, can we get a 6hour thrillseekers set instead?

| Originally posted by 24K Because the club is still brand new, they are still waiting for some of their permits etc. We should be able to stay open until 3am very soon, but for now all we can do is push it past 2am as long as possible. Funny that you mention the Armin reference... I remember saying to Marty at some point in the DJ booth "Armin who?" |
thanks to Danny and Marty for the hooks up as we got into the club and right off to the dance floor after a few shots...very good set and indeed it should have lasted longer.
WHOOOO !!! WHAT A NIGHT !!!!!!!!!!
Cyber's dancefloor is now my new bitch! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Great to see TA's out last night and respect
goes to all my dancefloor junkies pounding the floor with me.
You know who you are.

Sean's girlfriend was quite a babe! Angelo was jealous because Sean's got a hot
radio show and he doesn't.
BTW, nice shirt, Angelo! Thanks for pointing out how nice it was.
yeah it was a preety nice night... i couldn't stop dancing and my feet were hurting so bad.... i wanted to go off but when i heard the classics... i said... fuck it
... i think i'll go to andy instead of armin.... the club is smaller and more ... dj friendly... i mean the height of the booth... not like plush... it feels more like... "among friends" ... than plush with their stupid bouncers
..

my ears are still ringing
i dunno what to do cause i have work tomorrow.. lol
Good night guys! Steve is quite entertaining on the decks.
I was a little tired (being a Saturday and all) but still enjoyed the music! When that 4 Strings song came on it was great: I kept repeating ooohh classic, classic! It worked well for the vibe.
The highs did get piercing and the music got progressively louder through the night but that happens at near 90% of the shows (one of my pet peeves for sure). That is what toilet paper is great for!
I hope everyone (really) works together in the coming months to help Cyber (and all other trance related events), which are making this music more tangible than ever, spread the love of it throughout Vancouver! I'm down! And by the way, IMO hip hop, aka more rightly called "commercial rap" is slowly dying - let's pick up the slack and make this city better in 2006!!
