lol thats crazy , this is almost as good as Damon going to the Yanks

ok so Daunte....
Brees has almost or the same type of injury of Pennington if im not mistaken, so yeah Im glad with Sabans desicion. So what Daunte will we get, I have no idea.Certainly will be alot better than anything we've had since Marino. Hopefully the fins can draft a speedy reciever to compliment Chambers to chase down Dauntes long throws and we got somethin here.

I heard TO is getting 10 million for one year.

Just the word off the grapevine, I have no idea if its correct.

$25 million for 3 years -
$5M for the first year, $8M for the second, $7M for the third, and $5M signing bonus

thats quite a lot of money.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope the Eagles are good this year so they can kick the shit out of Dallas. I can't wait to see their linebackers or Dawkins against TO. Its gonna be gruesome.

The redskins are gonna kick both eagles and cowboys asses

Eagles will always suck... they let any chance of winning go when they pulled that bogus TO suspension shit last year... I hope the Eagles organization crumbles... or should I say keeps crumbling...

wow see I went in the complete opposite direction.

I've always had a thing against Eagles fans, which are the worst in the NFL by far, but I love the organization now b/c of what they did to TO.

I love it how they had the balls to do what they did, and how they put their team values above winning. Not many organizations or coaches would have had the guts to do what they did.

yeah... but you don't do that to TO... Terrell Owens is one of a kind... he was the greatest trash talker of the past few years.......................BECAUSE HE BACKED IT UP!!!

I'm all for the Belichick approach of taking no shit... but you don't do that to TO, Eagles had no right, because they signed the guy, they should have realized what type of a person he was.

Which is why I bring up the Parcells/TO relationship. I think it would take a miracle for Bill to put TO in his place, I don't see it happening. Theres no way in hell Bill is thinking: "I know he's had troubles, but I'll fix the kid." If he's thinking like that, I can't wait to see what TO says this year...lol. I think TO realizes the Cowboys aren't a GREAT team, so he's not going to bite his lip. So, I'm hoping TO doesn't change a DAMN thing, and remains to be the only reason other than the Pats and Peyton Manning to watch the NFL!!!

I'm just glad TO is back!!!

i agreed with you on everything up until that.....

lol... understood...

TO is a selfish piece of crap and I hate that bastard! His mocking antics of other teams and his own teammates is so disrespectful it's the last thing I look for in player that I like. Sorry, I'm for guys like Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, Barry Sanders, etc. that are superstars but still class acts. The only exception is Chad Johnson and his showboating but that's because he doesn't show up anybody on the field. He's just funny.

TO is a cancer to any team he plays for. Yeah the Eagles got the Super Bowl but they made the NFC championship the previous 3 years so it's not like it was a stretch. And to say that this year collapse wasn't the result of that cancer than I don't know what is.

Respect his talent, disrespect the person and the cancer he brings to every team he'll play for.

Posted by Spartan on Mar-22-2006 00:03:

I love Torry Holt as well.

Back to TO though,
Its not the endzone celebrations - which aren't nearly as big a deal as the press builds them up to be, or the discord he brings to the locker room ~ I just hate TO for how he treats his teammates on camera. Like Dirk Novitski (sp?) for Dallas, any player that goes public and insults or brings down another player on his team is the worst kind of teammate. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo!

Posted by tribu on Mar-22-2006 03:07:

I don't think TO is more of an asset thana liability. Yes the Eagles made the Super Bowl run with him but he was hurt for a good portion of that time and the Eagles won 2 playoff games without him (along with several regular season games).

Not to take away from TO the player but his antics and his trash talk attract more attention than his preformances.

In other news, The Colts just signed Adam Vinateri. I guess theyre still tasting last years bitter exit to the Steelers....

There was also that whole thing between Vanderjagt and Manning a few years back, with the kicker saying how unhappy he was that Manning always loses the big games or something to that end...

"fate it seems, is not without a sense of irony"

Posted by King Ecnal on Mar-22-2006 03:20:

Best Kicker of all-time is in Indy... good luck to him...

although I would have rather seen him in Green Bay... he'll always be the MAN...

I am assuming that the reason the Pats are letting all these people walk is so that they can sign Branch and more importantly Richard Seymour to extensions,Seymour especially deserves the money..jhis stats do not tell you how important he is to that defense

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-22-2006 05:03:

adding on to seymour is also tedy Bruschi (hopefully he is ok .. probably not) and mike vrabel. the pats let go of many people on defense . i think the pats also resigned asante samuel, who really has stepped up the past couple of years .

as for the colts, i wouldn't be surprised if vanderjagt and vinateri are both on the colts next year . vanderjagt would do kickoffs, and vinateri would do field goals . i still say the colts are going to go nowhere next year, especially with now dominick rhodes behind peyton.

peyton will now know how it feels like to be his dad. always running from the defense.

I don't know Rhodes is pretty good as well, he did a nice job filling in when Edge was hurt. and do they still have Mungro? , cause if they do they're solid at the RB spot.

Plus their defense has been improving every year, so I don't see how they can really go backwards, if anything, they'll just be hungrier every year they don't win a superbowl. This squad is too talented to give up.

And if thats not the case their division is still shit awful.

that makes absolutely no sense.

why would they hold on to two kickers of that calibre!?

if the colts picked up vinateri, they should either release of trade vanderjagt to free up space under the cap, or try to trade up in the draft to get a chance at a decent runningback in the first round.

yup, the only idiots around here who are bitching that Adam is gone are the people that don't realize the Pats NEED Seymour, if we lose(can't re-sign him next year) Seymour, we're in trouble!!!

but I don't quite understand why the Pats are even having Vanderjagt in town in the next couple of days... I can't see them signing him... I see a kicker no one knows anything about or some fossil kicking for them this year...

Yeah, I agree

I think the Colts RB spot might be like the Broncos and KC... but not hard nose runners, but more Marshall Faulk, catch and run position... I think if you plug anyone in there who is quick and can do the run and catch... that back will succeed... I actually like the upside to Rhodes in that spot... as long as he doesn't get hurt... I think he'll do fine...

brian griese signed with the bears for five years......

if he stays healthy, i think its an excellent fit for chicago

Certainly a decent upgrade over Grossman or Orton, though not a long term solution imo

Yeah, if the 25th best QB in the NFL is your thing.... he's better than what they got but not anything to get excited about. Especially for 5 years.

More interesting.. Butters, your favorite QB is going to the Ray-Duh's. Aaron Brooks signed a 2 year deal.
