No. I'm hoping for either Sweden or Serbia & Montenegro.
it takes a shitty team for germany to finally win, poor them they are so desperate
Germany should be proud of their performance today. They beat the number 5 team in the world. If that doesn't make another nation proud I don't know what does.
To be fair here, the US didn't have all its players. Some injuries kept key players from playing and the EPL players didn't go because this wasn't a day for national competition.

It was you who made the comment about the US playing. I didn't even know they were playing. This wasn't no friendlies week.
I was just adding insult to injury with the ranking.

Now you all know my stance on US football and how shitty it is and how I hate it but this could be a vital week for US "soccer". A friend of mine who interns at ESPN which covers US Internationals said that most of the media outlets will look at the ratings of this game with much interest. Why you ask? Football is quite popular here in the US but with youths then after they are 16 they stop playing it, its more of a hobby here. The direction to hype up football here has been the US National team ever since their WC 02 performance and their rivalry with Mexico. Nothing has changed though which leads many marketing ppl who want the US to have a strong interest in football (big bucks) that they should focus on other national teams. This has already started since most people know more about the English League than they do the "MLS"(our shitty league). Most people think the next WC winner or Brazil even if they dont win it will be the big push on the US Soccer plan........ Found it very interesting you guys may not |
I couldn't watch the game but I read about it. I'm not surprised with the result either. The game was in Germany. Germany pretty much had their full squad. The US was missing a lot of key players due to injury and not having players from other European leagues besides the German league. 4-1 sounds about right.

I don't know about top/bottom but the home team gets the left spot in the scoreboards in the left/right.
1. the scoreboard thing I can ask but who cares
2. irectum stfu
3. flavedave you idiot you do realize that all the games in the WC 06 will be morning and at the latest at 230
4. the real thing I had a problem with was the ad boards (that wernt behind the goal)....germans sold out to US Companies big time...even Nike! Adidas is german and sponsors Germany man big bucks flying around there!

| Originally posted by sensorium I'll take your word for it. So, damn the US for doing the scoreboard backwards! Ad boards? Come on! That's not a serious issue here. This is the last comment about this. This game was just publicity for the US, getting the public ready for yet another boring season of MLS, which unfortunately starts this Saturday. |

flavdave this isnt a american sport thread! your outta ur league
boards are normally choosen by the competiton(in cases of Euro, WC, CL the competition sells the rights) or by the home club in this case Germany let the US companies buy the rights I know its not a big deal but found it pretty shocking to see a Nike ad at a German home game
