Skez, you have just finished saying how we shouldn't judge people that we have never met. Wanna take a leaf out of your own book?

You cannot 'deflate' a non-existent entity (and that comes from somebody who does know him in person).

interesting question, altho it asks for its specific thread since this is more in abstract terms and not directly related to this guy's death.

you might find it ridiculous but yes, my personal belief is that death does give morality to everyone. but not on the instant of death, rather someting that goes with us through all existence since the first moment, altho it only becomes apparent to others when death occurs: the fact that death can be a very painful experience, that takes away the chance of experiencing more living time. i believe most living beings do not deserve going through the experience of death, but we all do.

you're assuming the experience of death is bad. have you ever experienced death? nope, because nobody who is alive has. death could be a good thing for all you know. so, in the end, what purpose does BELIEVING that death is bad and that good people who die don't deserve it serve? it serves your purpose. you feel good because you believe that, and you would feel bad about yourself if you did not believe that.

see, people who think they have an excellent grasp of what is good and bad, who think they have very highly evolved values, who take great pride in believing that they are good human beings, these people will leap at the opportunity to prove it by offerring up meaningless condolences to someone they've never known. the act of offering in this way is usually selfish. who does it help most when you say RIP on the internet? the dead guy? he's dead, he'll never know about it. no, it makes you feel better about yourself because you just proved what an oh-so good and caring person you are. it's okay that you ignore the thousands of other people who die each day because you pay attention to the one that someone posted about on tranceaddict dot com, or the one you saw on the news this evening, or the one on the front of the newspaper last week. so now you can sleep at night and rest assured that you're obviously a good person. these people think they are very good people because of what they say or believe, and maybe they are good people, but the truth is that a lot of things they say or believe are in most cases self-serving and hypocritical.

alright i think i'm done here.

Wow, what a bummer. Dont wanna see any1 die, even if they are a dick on the net. His family is gotta be going through hell right now. They are all saying, age 28, a doctor. He had alot going for him. My condolences.

err it doesn't serve my purpose. i wish death was a good thing, because i'm going to experience it like any of us. i assume death is a bad thing, because it's something that is usually accompanied by lots of pain and because it's extremely scary. i say that because some time ago i had this nervous thing were i thought i was having an heart attack and going to die, and went insane at the thought.

actually i'll concede you're partially right, coming here and saying "rip" does makes me feel better cause it reminds me of my moral values, alerting me not to go down the slippery road of not caring about anything and not treating death as a serious issue.

i do not think however this is necessarily hypocritical, since i feel the same way about other thousands of deaths, which just didn't happen to come my way in the form of a tranceaddict thread, which is the form of entertainment i'm using right now to make time pass - and you're doing the same.

i think its funny how everyones getting pissed off and arguing. its called opinions. you dont have to agree with them.

my opinion: i thought he was annoying and quite a prick on these boards in a lot of cases. its a relief to not have to deal with some of his posts anymore, even though it is sad that he died. i know a lot of poeple on here are assholes from time to time, myself included. death in life is obviously a sad thing for the people who knew him and were his friends or his family. i never knew him outside from his posts so i can honestly say this in no way affects me but i would send my condolenses to his friends and family as i'm sure they are hurting right now. RIP

are u ready to death?

everybody i know is like "im gonna die at the 80's 90's...no worries right now"

im a person who made the idea that death is unpredictible, neither late.

we may die everysingle day, who knows. but the question is are u ready to death?

somebody told me that who dies not ready for it, becames a ghost and resists to accept is dead, so he/she continues acting like is alive.

overall, RIP to the DR.

you said in a later post that reminding yourself of your virtues makes you feel better.
hence expressing your condolences is an egotistical action rather than an altruistic one.
upon coming to terms with that fact (unless of course you disagree with my reasoning), don't you see the coming contradiction?
(i.e. the sole reason for your expressing-your-condolences being the pleasure you get from doing so, hence obviously negating the intent, the truth, and the supposed usefulness of your expression)

I love reading your posts....

Mostly because your english is so rough around the edges that what you end up saying is usually pretty hilarious.

"we may die everysingle day, who knows. but the question is are u ready to death?"

ROTF!

Well this is terrible news. It must be devastating for his family and friends. Its obvious he lived a full life and achieved so much in the short time he was here. I think we should all live by his example and do the most with the time we have.

I didn't read most of this thread because after a while it was getting real pathetic. Some of you have serious character issues to say such things about him after an event like this.

Even if he was a total prick on TA, in real life, or anywhere, is irrelevant. To wish death on someone because of your own insecurities exposed by their disposition is disgusting. Seriously, shame on you.

Posted by wizniz on Mar-13-2006 03:48:

but howd he die?

(edit: i swear to god if that turns into a catch phrase)

RIP...regardless of whether or not he was a prick here. Because despite of how he may have acted irl, its a terrible thing for not just him, but also all his family and friends. Its a very crap situation for them.

Posted by FallingMoon on Mar-13-2006 20:18:

Wow he really died?

Posted by DJ Legs on Mar-13-2006 20:31:

i guess so, never knew him.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Mar-14-2006 00:52:

this is very bad news.

rip to a TA . i can't believe some of you guys and gals would have something insensitive to say in this thread. yeah yeah, you might have had differences with the guy, but we're talking about his death here . we don't talk smack about a guy after he's dead.

i think this should be stickied, since he is a member, and not many TA members die suddenly.

i don't want to sound like an asshole by saying this, but usually when a young person "dies of natural causes", it means either 3 things :

1- autopsy hasn't come out yet of cause of death, and the doctors need more time to investigate his body.
2- he committed suicide, and his family doesn't want to ruin his name in public by saying he took his own life. so they hide the cause of death.
3- drug overdose. the family doesn't want the public to know that, since he was a doctor.

just my thoughts.

I don't see much reasoning behind this, though.

because he's a member like the rest of us. just to show him some respect for him choosing to be a member of our community .
