there already is a "real" mixing competition in the Amateur DJ Zone, and that started in November and the results are still not in. There were only about 10 mixes, we had 26 people in this one. The "judges" had to download all the mixes and listen to them over and over again.
Just imagine doing that for the try-outs. It's easy for me to say this, but the poll is a quick option to get this first test going.

As i said before, this was something a few of us in the TA chatroom were talking over, about how we got some real talent on these forums and that we should get a TA mix going.
This way to us seemed the fairest way of doing a trial TA mix, understandably a lot of u would want to contribute and its much appreciated
As DJ Dawn says, for us all to DL 26 seperate mixes and to "judge" them would be a long drawn out process and the idea of this is to produce a mix in fast terms, maybe we can expand on this idea as time goes past.
And Yes Miss P. i for one would like to see this become a regular thing, maybe Bi Monthly ? ?

Also, Swamper has agreed that if this mix is good, then He will host it as a D/DL so everyone on TA can judge for themselves if this was a good idea or not.

The Polling is finished and we have the results in for the 1st ever TA Hotmix challange.

Congratulations to, Dj Anthipus (aka Miss Proximus's Significant other), TempesTrip, DjDawn and Gil Shwarts

The running order was also decided by the total votes u got so

Dj1 = Dj Anthipus
Dj2 = TempesTrip
Dj3 = Dj Dawn
Dj4 = Gil Shwarts

So can all of u please post in this thread to acknowledge the results and then we can move onto stage 3, the MIX itself !

PS: this was never intended as a popularity contest, we all love trance, so this was designed with only the music in mind, to get some great tunes mixed together by trancEaddicts.

This is not Antiphus posting, cuz he's at work (restaurant), but I hacked his account....no....just kidding, I have his password

Anywayz, every day when he got home from work he raced directly to the poll section to check if he was still with the first four dj's

I'll leave him a note that he has got to check the results one more time (cuz I have to work tonite too)

I dunno exactly which style Gil spins, but since Antiphus garantees some sweet tribal prog I think it's for the better that he is the starting dj...since Tempes is more trancy and Dawn even a lil' harder

anywayz...I'm sure he will be very happy that he's in......and I hope it will make him post some more, because he hardly posts cuz he never knows what to say shy guy

haha.....i can't wait to hear the results

why don't you just make a mix by yourself, and post it up. That way, if its good, you'll make a name for yourself and your "skillz", and get more votes next time.

only ones I can think off stay within reasonable BPM (130-145 or so) and make the last track something that Tempes also has so he can take over from there...

Just a quick comment,
I see no reason for the last track played by the previous DJ being a track that the next DJ must have. Just play any track for your last track and let it run out until the end, then the next DJ just starts his mix beatmatching to that last track as it plays out.

thats what i intend to do...
i'm gonna start mixing from the end of the 60 minute mark with a track of my own with beatmching just like a regular mix.

this will mean i'll have to download like 90mb and listen to a 60 minute track before i start but hey, everything for TA
