edit: seriously though,
That's really just so in the US, where Pride and Humility seem to have swapped their respective status of being a sin and a virtue

So if someone believes in themselves and think they make music that to them sounds good then they are too proud? Is it still ok to have confidence in yourself as long as its not too much?

This thread is stupid.

Someone should've just said, "They need a lot of work". I didn't even listen, but they would have to be the worst tracks in history to warrant some of these comments. Were they THAT bad?

you are right. all someone had to say to this guy was tat his tracks ay need work, or that they personally didnt like it. But most people were very rude and even saying out right "your music sucks".

its sad becuase i thought this forum was going to be a good place to come and hear other peoples music and read what constructive criticismothers may have. im very interested in the process of making a track. But all i saw was people downing others instead of helping and other people getting overly defensive and not takeing the criticism.

I personally think it's daft when people routinely talk highly of themselves, with or without the works to back it up. If they're as good as they say, it shouldn't be necessary and they could just let their work speak. If they aren't, they're either delusional or disingenious. Neither, I think, is something to aspire to.

This is a very generous community. Most people do give praise and/or constructive criticism for tracks, however, the difference here is that the guy talked himself up as if hes an established muscian that we should bow down to because of his music. As wayfinder said, talking yourself up is just lame, in any case other than maybe sarcasm.

ok that makes sense. But it may have been better to leave it alone, or as some people did, comment in an intelligent, mature manner, instead of makeing accusations of him using preset samples or whatever. Even if his music isnt good to some people, he did make it and put himself and his time into it. That has to account for something.. right?

i personally didnt like his music and i didnt speak down on him. no one deserves that, however he talked himself up like he was superior than the rest of us. telling people this is how it should be done because he does it like this.

i think what people are trying to get across is that it wasnt just a decision to rip this guy apart, he brought it on himself. maybe this thread doesnt say the whole picture but his comments in other threads werent too nice!

Yep - you tend to get what you give around here.
