I really miss boarding and skiing. I guess I could drive a few hours to North Carolina and hit up some fake snow drifts but it's just not the same.

you need to be going to Vermont or New Hampshire.

i had the choice of going to Vermont with some friends over new years but i decided to go to California to see family

I'm just saying that if you drive to upstate Neew York to ski, an extra hour by car gets you mountain ranges that make anything in NY look like a tiny hill.

my mah sent me an article from the Sun Times (i think) about all the snow they've been getting....they're up to 53" for the year (if i remember right). the picture showed a snowstorm that pretty much had complete whiteout conditions. it made me want to vomit.

Posted by ScuL on Mar-07-2008 23:46:

the file was corrupt. VLC said it was a damaged AVI and needed repair. after clicking yes it worked

Haha, wow, only 53" and yet Milwaukee, only 1.5 hours north is all the way up to 80? Wouldnt expect such a contrast. Either way, its above average thats for sure, and more than the past I'd say 3-4 years at least.

yeah, the last time chicago got that much snow was in 1998-1999 when the blizzard hit right after new years, and in 1999-2000

Posted by justin on Mar-08-2008 03:48:

I live in a wieird part of the state. it snows allaround us all the time. just never in town.
i don't live in OKC but I got the pleasure of experiencing an ice storm laste year.
Global warming WTF
A huge tree limb came crashing down on our back porch and nearly broke through our kitchen window.
craziness. iremember hearing the tree cracking apart from inside the house and then checking out the noise. couldn't believe it
made for some really cool pictures though. The trees were completely iced over.

Posted by Zewad on Mar-08-2008 03:57:

funny, the same thing happened here in shreveport, but because of flooding, not because of ice (trees became so waterlogged that they were becoming top heavy and falling over)...also one almost hit my house.

gotta love mother nature right?

pretty much starting at cap't (about 4 years in) is when i deal less and less with weather. which kinda sucks, imo.
