Funny I have never had one single solitary issue at TIL, infact I get far more nervous when I enter GUV and there are 5 cops standing around overseaing the entrance way, while drug dealers shake hands and lift the "velvet rope" to let their drug endused crackheads in.

My biggest issue with TIL, is simple, the sound sucks it is weak beyond comparison and the reality is that the club was never meant to house DJ's who require decent acoustic technology. The venue is the biggest paradox ever. The club wants crowd A but DJ's bring crowd B, the average TIL clientele is expected to dress in clothing A, average electronic supported wants to have a comfortable experiance and therefor dresses in attire B. The sound quality was orginally set up for local DJ and therefor the sound is actually D (for its rating) while the sound expectation is supposed to be at a A+ level.

Having said all of that someone please explain how that place landed the contracts to some of the finest sound in the world? it does not all add up.

I wouldnt go back to that club even if it was- to see my favorite dj, 0$ admission, and they are passing out free hummers

Aiiiite...

I got there early I guess, about 10:40. My friends got there earlier than I have so I stayed solo in the guestlist line (Thanks John). 3 more of my friends walked by, and I had them join me in line, when one of them turned out to know the bouncer, got in the short line, and went through with no probs. I didn't get looked up and down once, and the guestlist girl was nice, and gave us reduced tix.

Regarding my 'style' for the night... as many of you know me... I rarely venture outside my home at the Guv, where I can totally be myself and dress whatever way I feel like. However I have been warned beforehand. So for the first time in over a year, I went to a club without a hat on, and developped the confidence of going with my shaved head, with a Mikhail Gorbachev-style scab on top of my head from a collision I had with a coral reef a few days earlier. I knew I couldn't wear my trademark Abercrombie t-shirts, so I took out a flowery Abercrombie dress shirt, with jeans and black suede shoes. No issues.

I'm sorry to hear most of you guys had trouble getting in. Reading all about it here is the first I heard of this. I really didn't get that impression at any time during my whole night. HOWEVER that would explain why there were SO MANY TA GIRLS there, and a few TA dudes. Sad about Sasha missing the night, he's always dressed right.

Nathan warmed up well, and Sanchez went dirty Dancing to an all-house music night was different from my usual Guv experiences, however it was quite refreshing for a change. I also was surprised to see my ex at the club, who was with a bottle service party. Totally shocked, as it was the first time running into her at a club after we parted ways. We were friendly nonetheless.

Dancing.... VERY energetic night. The electric aura emitted by you girls was awesome, and great meeting a couple of you officially for the first time, you know who you are, and are even prettier in person (k)!

I left early at around 3:15... (it's not the guv), and I I had a good time overall. If I can describe the whole night in one word... refreshing.

Exactly. So if someone wants to go to TiL, conform to their requirements or go to down the street to one of so many clubs on Richmond/Peter/Adelaide. Its their club, their rules.

The same people who own Guv own TiL.

and Regarding the bouncers, they are really not that bad with the exception of one and he works outside. I'm just a regular patron just like u guys and all I did was talked to one of the bouncers and asked "hey do u think its going to be busy tonight?"...and we just started a convo, I introduced myself to them and they introduced themselves to me and since then we r cool. Instead of treating them like bouncers try treating them like guys doing a job, break it down a bit, know what I mean. I arrived around 11:10 p.m. for Roger and the line was around the block. I went up to the Guestlist girl got my ticket and went right up to the front of the line and walked right in- no waiting. why? cuz a couple of weeks ago, I was nice to the bouncers. Yea I agree sometimes they can be idiots but all in all they are good guys. so please stop bitchin. if they treat u like shit, treat them nicer- atleast u still have class.

Fun night though.

The problem is their rules change depending on each individual that enters the line. No one here would have a problem if they said you had to wear a Tux to get in because you would wear a tux. When two people wearing the exact same thing try to get in and only one of them gets in....there is a problem. Face it....all TiL is doing is trying to pick and choose which people are allowed in their club.

Why not just say only asians are allowed into the club...oh wait...someone would call that a racist thing....I guess looks do matter....pompus asses.

They've always been like that, even before the recent management change. As far as the looks thing goes, its a great looking crowd I'll admit. Like I said, I made myself known to the bouncers, and I walked in with a pair of jeans, Pumas, and a hat. Only words being said , "Hey bud, hows it goin? Ready for tonight?"..."Good man. Tonight's gonna be insane. Have fun."

could be wrong but I was not under that impression I was told that TIL, MONEY and Devils' Martini were the same owners and Charles owned GUV, KOOL HAUS and ULTRA...

bad managment of the events overall.

I'm always polite and so are my friends, and we still get treated with disrespect. There's no way I'm going to suck up to anyone, especially if they're going to treat me like street filth.

money and therapy lounge are owned by this shane dude..he definitely does not have a hand in TIL or devils martini

Posted by spitty on Apr-02-2006 21:06:

ps. i found sanchez disappointing. he'd be on one minute...and off the next. no flow whatsoever. i felt quite let down...and am really surprised at some of these reviews, b/c several ppl told me they didn't care for it either...and now are saying he killed it. maybe you're only remember the end..cuz he was balls at first

crowd was pushy. not surprising b/c it was packed. my only complaint is the couples, esp the drunk ones that are swinging eachother around, throwing their nasty hair all over me..HAIR ELASTIC BITCH!

and my two cents in this argument..its not just your clothes and your looks (and tits) but also your attitude. you have to LOOK money, and ACT money

thanks sean for the GL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!! always a good time with you

yes there is a difference between class and sucking up...what u did WAS sucking up..

class would be "hey hows it goin" with a response to the question and u walk in with the bouncer saying "have a good night"

u dont exchange names and all that to add to ur acquaintance list for future reference

Posted by all-nite-freak on Apr-02-2006 22:26:

if you are one of those complaining in this thread why not just never go back?
complaining isnt going to do anything to change TIL.

Your average afterhours clubgoer doesnt spend that much at the bar, since the majority are on "over the counter" substances. They are just looking out for their own interests by limiting the crowd to the snooty high-class crowd in hopes of cashing in on drink sales.

I could understand if they wanted to limit the patronage by upping the dresscode. They only state "london stylecode" or whatever nonsense they called it on the flyers, which has a LOT of gray area as far as where they can draw the line. Changing the age based on the size of the lineup pissed me off though. The flyer states 21+, I show up expecting a 21+ party. Id be happy staying home if I knew it was going to be a 23+ party, I wouldnt have wasted mine or the bouncers time.

I ended up gettin my dress shirt all sweated up at footwork :P

if you're that tight with him, have him read this thread, and ask if you can carry his equipment for him.
