Paul Van Dyk has put on some of the greatest parties i have ever been to in my life. I would not be into this music i beleive if there was no Paul Van Dyk. Accept the fact that he is one of the greatest Djs ever as i have accepted the fact that you are a door knob.

PAUL VAN DYK

Damn right, Tyler.

i've only been to NYC 3 times. once in september, once in november and once in march, but each time it was colder there then here. toront, being surrounded by the great lakes, is moderated in temperature. nyc..is just motherfucking freezing.

maybe the reason why paul is playing vancouver and not toronto has something to do with the fact that he is already on the west coast:

14.5.06 Vancouver, BC Canada
PvD in Vancover / Plush Nightclub

13.5.06 San Diego
Politics Of Dancing -Tour Vol.2 / 4th and B
http://www.4thandb.com

12.5.06 San Francisco
Politics Of Dancing -Tour Vol.2 / San Francisco / 1015

would be nice to see him in toronto again though!

I doubt that cold weather is the issue....He's from Germany, it isnt exactly "Miami" like weather there..And I also doubt he has a beef with Canada..DJ's will go anywhere for $$$$. PvD would spin in the North Pole if the price was right.

His sets at Central Park last year and Roseland Ballroom were fantastic..I doubt that any of the "bashers" on this thread would have a terrible time if he came back to TO.

In fact, if I were to bring him back after a long hiatis, I would book him for Labour of Love this year, but thats just me.

Posted by Irishaddict on Apr-10-2006 04:04:

lol, you were right beside me in Roseland.

Love your shirt.

Posted by Nikitha on Apr-10-2006 04:14:

its not THAT cold in cananda to keep an international DJ from coming to the province and just like TranceDut said... he is from Germany.. they have winter too.. and yes it might not be as cold as Canada but winter is winter..
i honestly believe ( and REALLY hope) that he does come back to TO.. i'll be there for sure to see him.. i saw him back in 04 and i hold it as one of the best live sets i have ever heard...
him and his posse walked passed me and Chadly84 after his set and after i got pushed by the bouncer out of the way he stopped and smiled at us... i don't think a person who hates a city would do that

i heard ( just another rumour obviously) but i heard that his absence might have had something to do with the MC at his event who kept blowing that loud ass train horn thingie during his set..
if he does have a problem with coming back.. i feel its a personal problem with the venues... not with the city itself

Here's an idea...if everyone emailed the guvernment about PvD, it would express demand for him and maybe they would book him...just a thought...

Go to the Guvernment's webpage and click contact...you'll find an email address for the "assistant to talent buyer"

It's just an idea...Results come from numbers.

PAM DJs (PVD's Can/Am Agency) is a$$ to deal with if you don't have a long history with them. PvD is their crown jewel and you must book their other acts to get a chance to get him. And if you get this chance, its an open weekday night where the money is right and he has an open date. ie. Vancouver on a Sunday, Toronto on a Thursday.

P.S. The last time PvD was in Toronto was Thursday, June 24, 2004.

its ridiculous to think that a man who is considered one of the pioneers in spreading the popularity of dance music around clubbing communities the world over would let weather dictate where he plays. Dont you think that after all these years hes a little more er professional than that

toronto has a very active clubbing culture which can be compared to any other city in north america. Are you saying he would risk losing out on a significant fan base just to avoid being let down by his jacket for a day??? He used to frequent toronto quite often up till 2001. Im sure his not coming is a little more complicated than that. He plays in germany in january, im sure he could handle toronto in june

New York is on the ocean. Temperature moderation by Atlantic ocean > The Great Lakes.

PVD is expensive. Perhaps more expensive than Tiesto. At least two years ago he was from what I heard. Plus he has a very tight schedule. But I am pretty sure that after couple more threads like this some promoter will decide to bring him. I remember how Themporal Rhythm stood up for the challenge and it was only terribly bad luck that he cancelled his show due to SARS.

Posted by Moral Hazard on Apr-10-2006 14:26:

Fuck PVD, Fuck him right in the ear! I refuse to support those that don't support us. I will not see him, ever, anywhere, at anytime, even if he would play a set in my backyard. Any overatures made to Toronto now would be too little too late IMO.
