i feel like venting so...
listen. it's two-thousand-and-fucking-six. yeah, i'd say maybe like 40% of immigrants who enter the country by illegitimate means actually get their alien status green cards and work for what they have (and i'm willing to bet that's a pretty generous figure). but what about the rest? they burden the already overburdened system here in the U.S. there's no need to keep letting people into our country, we're full, kthxturnaroundbye. the people who are actually CITIZENS here who don't have it so well can't even get fucking help when they need it, so why should we help everyone else? yeah, i'm well-aware that my great-great-whatever-grandparents migrated here two centuries ago and that they were immigrants then. but they didn't have the problems america has in this day and age to deal with back then either. so to all you who think we should keep letting these leechers into the US to feed off my and your tax dollars when i can't even get decent fucking health care, piss off. and if someone already had this rant sorry.. didn't feel like sifting through seven pages of apologist whining for the underprivileged.

Im ok with if immigrants want to come to this country, contribute, pay taxes, and actually try to apply themselves at a real job. Instead of coming here and applying for welfare immediately, than demanding healthcare just because you are here. And on top of that, alot of the immigrants that come here purposely commit crimes so that they can go to jail because of how good convicts have it in there. And out of who's pocket does all this money come from? All of us tax payers.

This is basically want we/they want, they just want to work here and live a better life than they do in mexico, if you ever been to mexico where ive gone, you would understand why.

| Originally posted by Aureus to point A) there are Americans that could use those jobs, no matter how low they pay. why should some border-jumpers who won't even end up paying taxes get dibs? to point B) when an illegal immigrant goes to a free-clinic, that drives up costs for the rest of us who actually pay taxes, because it's not coming out of their salary (usually under-the-table). so it's costing me. and i have a problem with that. |

para comensar,
It's rather funny to hear most of you complain about someone learning English, when some of you can hardly articulate a proper sentence, yet alone, a paragraph.
y para rematar.
furthermore, you probably only speak that one language.
it's interesting to see people come down so callously on illegal immigrants of latin origin, when it was just yesterday, it seems, that your people came here. so what, now that it's convenient for you, you can look down on someone else? it's wasn't that long ago that you were being looked down on as well. have you forgotten?
Finally, we didn't all just wake up one day and said, "gee, i think i'll go north." The situation in Central America and Mexico are at the point they are right now for a reason, and frankly, that discourse would take too long to establish here on TA.
ps. JDAT you're OK M8

Yes, my parents are immigrants, but unlike the people coming here from down below... my father started out driving a taxi cab, than started up his own carpentry business.
