and please don't compare this album with the new one by gabriel & dresden. I think this one is much better, but if you want pure electro get g&d album

so if there are artist that "ride the electro wave", gabriel and dresden surely count to this group.

+1 to that

I liked the album. I must say I really love the way how the tracks sound, similar samples may have been used by someone else already, but Ferry made them so fresh-sounding.. awesome.

Love these:
04) Loud Electronic Ferocious (makes my feet move, so energetic!)
06) Galaxia
07) Beautiful (the use of the sexy electro vocal here is incredible)
12) Watch Out
14) Cubikated
15) Freefalling
16) I Love You (Bonus Track for Europe)

Heard it only once, so maybe the other tracks will grow on me.

7.5/10

Can anyone learn this guy that there are ratings that exist between 0/10 and 10/10 ? It's getting ridiculous... You seem to rate everything in an extreme way; chill out or explain your opinion.

nothing to really explain but all the tracks are shit.

well, looks like people are getting old around here. That whole generation of people who love "the uplifting trance era" of early 2000's. That's over! Things have changed, and I love it!

Trance needs to kick your ass on the dance floor IMO and since the change in overall styles for most DJ's, its been a great time for me. The old stuff put me to sleep unless it was harder edged like what PVD used to drop.

Now granted I don't want Ferry going too House or Techno like, but when he makes trance, it's always top notch!

what Ferry makes is not trance anymore, and he has lost alot of fans because of it.
He is just following the "OMG ELECTRO IS THE SHIT" bandwagon like alot of other dj's.

I cant wait till this whole electro garbage is over.

Junk is genius, taking the ideas of the icey remix of punk but redoing it in a better fashion with a nice acidline and a good groove and Guru delivering some bars over it, top tune, needs an extended mix. this would actually work amongst the breaks crowd i think.
Cubikated is also a nice one, i'm sure glad ferry decided to release it after saying he wouldn't. For being a remix of the 808 state classic this is a good job.

the rest are a combination of mieh, decent, and it works but i dunno.

Exactly. Hes more a "lol" then a "KAKAAK". Whatever "KAKAAK" means.

i just listened to the new album now and heres what i got:

ive heard most of the songs before either in clubs or early releases or whatever. the song that i really enjoy was L.E.F. very badass and joyful. this song just reminds me of ferry throwing a set. the rest of the 'new' stuff is nothing impressive. weve heard galaxia and its great.

i understand hes trying to show his new side of electro sounding music with this album, but there was nothing really special about it. the only track that gives that L.E.F. image hes trying to pursue is L.E.F. and cubikated which is just a remake.

what i want more is more electro sounding songs also some nice trance. wheres sublime? wheres kyoto? wheres right of way?

Well, I don't know if it's the memories associated with dancing on stage while "L.E.F." or "Watch Out" was spun by the man himself, but I freaking dig this album hardcore. Right of Way was amazing, and I'm in love with this as well. I couldn't wait for the release here! I'm gonna see him in 2 weeks in D.C. and if you are in North America, download it off dance tunes, because you get the 16 tracks for 13 in your bundle (see site for explanation) and that includes "I love you"! 9/10 hands down grooving craziness

Go to hell... Exactly whats killing trance.... People like this... Go listen to rap or pop if you want to dance... I want to be tranced like the old days not like today with bullshit like Deep dish, Flashbrothers, Ferry Corsten 2005/2006.... We need more trance like John O'Callaghan, Kamil Polner, Solarstone, Ronski Speed, Shah, Selu Vibra, N2O.....

+1

I hate some of these sheeps on this board that think they are so cool for hating trance all the time.I guess they cant see the name of this site too well. We'll just have to remind them over and over again.

LONG LIVE TRANCE <---uplifting and psy that is

Posted by gk_nz on Jun-01-2006 07:46:

I personally prefer the Ferry's oldstyle of trance, but some new stuff is good too but not so much for me.

I think the whole conflict here is difference between "oldskool" and the "newskool" fan's. Some trancers who have been around awhile probably identify more with the older sound, I'm not saying all do, but a lot do. And the newer 'trancers' or 'edm'ers', whatever you wanna call them, can't relate the same to the old sound like they do with the current sound.

For example when I started dj'ing back in 2000 trance and vocal's were looked down upon and there werent so many around, big euphoric trance tracks was the sound of the day. And now you see a lot of vocal tracks and fewer euphoric tracks. So you could see that a person getting into trance back then may have different tastes to someone who go into the scene now when the music has changed!

It's all a clash of era's, things are changing, things always change, you can't stop it. It's just how it is... we can wish for the past to come again because for many of us it brings better memories. You don't have to embrace the new things, but don't go slagging others because they probably come from a different perspective and experience to you, and so can't relate.

It is fair to express an opinion, but if your slagging other peoples opinions because its not your own then get off your high horse because it's people like you that are the problem with the scene.

Posted by apple country on Jun-01-2006 19:45:

Exactly. Im not bashing trance as a whole, Trance is what I define as my favorite type of electronic music. Im not into the "uplifting" trance some of you love so dearly. I like it with more energy, and not the cheese that was out around 2000.

I understand that this is a general statement, yet im not into your favorite type of trance.

PS: Ferry's new album is called "Loud Electronic Ferocious" not "Uplifting Melodic Dreamy"

It's a pretty good track actually, it has really started to grow on me during the last couple of days. The same goes with "Beautiful"

That was is freaking awesome, I also like "On My Mind" very much, it's freaking amazing!

Posted by Munchy on Jun-05-2006 01:57:

When I hear the name LOUD ELECTRONIC FEROCIOUS, I expected like 80 minutes STRAIGHT of mind pumping electro trance, but then he added these fluffy tracks in the middle... Totally killed the buzz after the self-titled L.E.F. track...
