it's not really about acting like a snob. it's about getting what you pay for. i'm not that picky when it comes to my food when i'm at a restaurant that isn't exactly known for having the best food around (like a Chilli's or Cheesecake factory). i mean, yea, those restaurants have some good stuff on the menu, but the dishes are cheap and the service is always going to be OK. i wouldn't send anything from a place like that back unless it was like AWFUL. but if you are at a 5 star restaurant and your mouth is watering for that $50 or $60 filet you're about to eat, and they overcook it, it's perfectly ok to demand that u get the steak the way you ordered it. if u like mid-rare and u cut into it and it's a totally brown center, that's more like medium well...in which case, you send it back. just do it nicely and don't have an attitude. your server shouldn't (and probably won't) take offense since they didn't cook the steak. i was a server and if anyone sent something back, i would check it out myself and they were almost always right, and i completely understood.

Alot of the finer places here don't add seasonings, not even salt and pepper because the beef is Sterling, etc. grade A and doesn't need all that shit to mask the lack of taste. Not a big Filet fan at all and somehow it always gets the most hype. There is no flavor. It's only known for its texture. The best steak, hands down is a KC, New York/ whatever city your from Strip. It has the marble lining to give it flavor, yet is still leaner than a Ribeye. Or the best of both worlds, a T-Bone. Omg, nothing better than loads of fresh ground pepper and blue cheese on an extra rare Strip. or honey dijon mustard and brown sugar crisp glazed on top. i love me some cow!

oh shut the fuck up already. yea, everyone loves filet mignon because missy elliot raps about it. yea, it's usually the most expensive piece of meat at a steakhouse because missy elliot raps about it. not everyone can appreciate a ribeye or a t-bone...too fatty and not as tender as a filet.

oh and quit acting like you're some goddamn steak connoisseur, because real steak lovers don't like a gat damn thing on theirs...mmmk?

And I agree with Jamie, no real steak eaters really eat it with anything on it. I just get a slab of meat and eat it with some Worchestershire steak sauce. I dont know anyone that would ruin a nice steak with pepper & blue cheese or honey mustard & brown sugar... bleh.

A T -Bone is not fatty. A filet is definately not, nor a Strip. Of course there's going to be light lining around the bone. Don't tell me you pick up and consume with your hands? If not using fork and knife is your dish to cut around the small lining, then I suppose when you gnaw with your hands to eat all that's around the bone, you could state it's "fatty." Fatty = Ribeye

i've never liked horseradish sauce, but i like raw horse radish...i wonder if i'd like that. i usually just go with the...fuck i'm having a total brainfart right now...what's the stuff it comes with? the broth?

anyway, primerib is delish and it's the only red meat i order rare. that place i used to work at that i mentioned before has great primerib...you can cut it with a spoon.

No see, I love the fat on a steak, thats the tastiest part of the meat. A steak that is too lean just doesnt do it for me. Prime Rib is the fattiest, but the T-Bone has its share too.
