it's computer mixed with the Ableton software.

I know that. I was asking whether or not it will be a live mix...

There were trash tracks than, there are trash tracks now; but you will pick the best tune from 1993 and compare it from worst tune in 2006; and than say 1993 was better.

Noone can make new quality track every week, neither Armin; nor Tiesto or any DJ from 1993. And dont tell me year 1993 had more trance releases than 2006, and year 1993 had more number of 'good tracks' releases than year 2006.

And you are very arrogant to make a statement like 'I would pick ANY Art of Trance track'. What you mean ANY? Like he was a GOD; 100% of his works are jems. Not even a single track which is not off the mark? All of them better than Tiesto and Armin combined? Looks like ex-DJ worshipper to me.

please kid if you started to listening to trance in the late ASOT era don't think that there wasn't any Armin before ASOT. Because there was and that is the Armin alot of those people you call "elitists" remember. that Armin was hungry, and played alot of tracks which others didnt pick up.

ummmmmmm its pretty obvious they dont play the same music they did 6 years ago since the music itself has changed a lot :ugh:

I've been listening to trance since oakenfold was at the top, which was like 50 years ago. Armin still plays hot, unknown tracks. He just also plays the hits to satisfy the masses as well. It's really not that hard to understand.

Now as usual you are talking mince. Sail is basically a rehashing of Gaia - 4 elements. What is that not a "proper" trance tune either? You are right about Armin producing some cheese such as Shivers but Sail is far from it.

old school trance fucking sucks compared to the shit today. It just sounds so dated.

there were trash tracks back then too thats true. but if you listen to the vast amount of trance tracks which were released back then the majority stayed true to the true trance sound and were more or less free from popish elements such as cheesy vocals etc. pick labels such as Eye Q Records, Platipus, Superstition, MFS, Rising High Records and scan through their releases. and yes there were more good releases back then than now. I can honestly say that there are very few tracks which really catch my attention today. a couple of years ago I could waste my entire salary on trance records simply because of the amount of good and worth-having-releases.

unknown tracks? i don't see any uknown tracks in his ASOT-playlists. scan through his 2001 years ASOT or sets and you will find dozens of unidentified tracks.

armin copying himself anno 2000. and the results isn't even decent. whats the point of releasing it then?

Hardcore - Luna-C, Rob Vanden, Sharkey, Ophidian, Druid

Old Skool. Top Buzz, Slipmatt, Carl Cox, Altern8, Prodigy, Ratpack

I wasnt saying it was right or wrong. I simply asked you why you thought it was a track conparable to Shivers which its not.

You are one of the most negative and deconstructive commentors on here about mainstream "club" trance. Look the music you listen to just doesnt work for people who want to go to clubs and enjoy "normal" trance. Stop trying to "educate" people in your way. There is such a thing as a difference in opinion and i persoanlly dont reckon Armin gives a monkeys what you think.

I would love to have Armin circa 2002 back but things are simply very different now. A lot of times you simply slate one of the big name trance DJ's just to cope a reaction out of people.

of course people are doing that today as well. people are buying every new britney spears album released as well. what I'm saying is that there is a clear trend which alot of producers themself agree with (Gareth Emery, J00F, PVD etc) that there is lack of new ideas in the scene today which is reproduced in the songs released today.
as I wrote in the other thread; one of the main reasons for this is that there are numerous new mp3 labels which headhunts every new bedroom producer which produce tracks on his computer off a downloaded copy of Reason. the market gets flooded which affects the quality of the tunes.
I honestly don't blame Armin. There simply aren't as many fresch and cool tunes as 5 years ago.

yeah i listen to a lot of them as well, but armin is still my favorite. I've actually only heard 1 or 2 ASOTs since the yearmixes so in that time he could be sucking it up :noes: i wish my smileys would work

A bunch of fuctards telling me their taste in music is better than me and rest of all people posting in this thread or listening to ASOT. I know its pretty weird but cant help it, they just wont ignore such threads, they will all jump in right in the middle and start trolling.

1993 stuff:

I will not be listening to it. However without the older stuff you laugh at, there wouldn't be the music there is today. It's about having some respect for things beyond your era, even if you don't bother to listen to it ever.

And anyone who doesn't agree with you is a fucktard? What a great analogy, I'm sure that's the way you'll have a happy & prosperous life. It's not trolling (like your threads on drug forums where) but debating. If you can't debate without making it personal, then don't try at all.

May be it never crossed your thick skull before, so I will post again:

And also do me a favor, put me on your ignore list fat guy; I maintain some standards, and simply because your are picking on me dosent mean you get my attention. Now I had put it as politely (with as much normal English) as I could; so dont start jumping around; taking screen shots of this thread and posting a new poll on me..

I am not going to put you on my ignore list, I said before. I don't need to because sooner or later you'll get bored, insult me again, get suspended & I'll have more peace again. Eventually you might learn that we're not elitists, just normal people who's tastes differ from your own. that gives you no right to attack us.

I'm not insecure. I've got plenty of friends on this board, people who are really cool & know me well. But since I speak my mind at times, people like purple try to make fun of whatever they can, appearance or whatever to get a rise. I'm perfectly happy in my music & everything
