im interested/impressed in the same way most seem to be impressed with someones tan (or how dark they got) when they come back from vacation or whatever

yes, someone appreciating a sunburn is far far rarer. its a social norm it seems to be impressed w/ someone's tan, but not sunburns (though tans are incredibly dangerous and bad for your skin as well)

interesting how tans are revered in general (well the pain associated w/ sunburns is an obvious factor as to why burns aren't... but both should carry the dangerous cancer stigma!)

Umm.. I'm not interested or impressed by tans in any way. When someone comes back from vacation, I just say, "Hey, nice tan", but it really doens't go any deeper than that.

niiiice .. I have such a "kid in a candy store" experience everytime I'm there (usually Yorkdale) LOL

thanks for the suggestion.. I heard a lot of celebs use that St. Tropez stuff

for the girls sticking with Jergens, Walmart has it at like 4.99.. you can't beat that!

i'm such a Nivea fan, and I actually was given Jergens as a part of the birthday present before it hit the stores properly (friend works at a beauty section of a big department store) but was stupid enough to chicken out on the possible strikes on clothing/towels that passed it on as a small gift without even openning it lol

Nada, do you have any store discounts left?

Try Vaseline Healthy Body Glow. I used Jergens a lot last summer and the smell of it made me sick. You get more in the Vaseline plus it actually feels like a moisturizer without an icky smell.

By the way, try this site www.makeupalley.com. Users rate different beauty products. It's really good especially if you are thinking of buying a new product.

---

I've been reading up on this shit of late, because of my natural tendency/inkling to get burned and not worry about it overly.

Obviously this is bad and I should stop. But everyone who is tanning needs to realise how bad that is for them too!

Overexposure to ultraviolet radiation shows itself as:

- a tan or sunburn
- wrinkling of the skin after long-term exposure
- skin cancer and cataracts

Found out that very simply put, UVB rays = sunburning rays
UBA rays = aging rays

That's awesome that you researched this...

Cudos to you Jem...

Well we can't completely avoid the sun... but avoiding a burn and possible skin cancer by using sunscreen is a super good idea... whether you get a tan or not...

=D

Yea, and through sunscreen, you can actually get a tan "safely".

(Though it wont be as intense and will take a good deal longer to attain... but you've also elimated the dangers of tanning!!)

anyways, i'll be at victoria beach for about a month as of june 14th and will then be road tripping back to TO around the time you'll get there. there may be a chance that we can see each other.

So did I. I think that's b/c each day it makes you a little darker, so if you don't want to be really dark than you can stop using it after 3 days or something.
