Cool mang, good job.
The man behind the Bucci Bag releases...nice!!
I think im going to like the concept of these Creator guest nights if they keep bringing fresh talent that havent graced the decks yet in this town.If you thought Lawler was dark, hehehe just wait.
Those who like Housey electro will go mad guaranteed.
I have recent set of his somewhere on CD that i will post later.
Martin, just curious as to what the deal is with smoking at Aria...will there be an place to smoke?

I really don't know man, I'm just helping out doing good nights, but i'm not really in the secrets of Aria's Gods....
I guess i'll see on Saturday ;-)
im just worried about seeing a guest dj light up, and then having 150 nicotine starved people bum rush the dj booth for a smell of so sweet deadly carcinogens.Im just looking out for the security of chain smoking dj's...
If i cant smoke and Marco G is playing(il fume beaucoup lui la.)I might just get a case of temporary rabies and start biting people.
Really? I don't think I've ever seen Marco G smoke a cigarette.... weird...

Im very happy with the way Aria seems to be going....
I feel bad to say but I haven't heard much from Doria
...that's one of the best parts of going out to afters which has been lost in the recent past and now seems to be coming back: checking out new/unheard talent...walking in to undiscovered sounds, I love it!
Congratulations Martin, things are looking up because of you

Well, I guess that to keep things exciting, you have to find a right balance with guests that people loved, and of course new stuff. Taking controled risks, while boosting the nights that are arleady working nice.
I love neon is a great example, they take huge booking risks, like DJ Hell, and they say: yeah I know you don't know who that guy is but thrust us, he's good"
And they make a good night out of it. Cause it's not just about the DJ, it's about the people. Their people. And good music.
All big DJs in Montreal have played once for the first time here. Either we love them, or not. And that's good. I rather experience one bad night then go seeing the same DJ 10 times in a row.
There are FANTASTIC artists out there that I want't too bring, let's hope people are open minded enough to make those nights successful.

| Originally posted by Kate Manus This sums up a lot of my sentiments concerning bookings in this city. Just as an example.. for a stretch of a few years Chris Liebing was booked about every 4 or 5 months in Montreal, and as much as I love Chris (well.. moreso what he played back then versus his shift these days), I don't think it makes much sense to book him that often. I know there are quite a few Liebing fans here, but at some point couldn't those same people be curious enough to check out the DJ that Chris Liebing considers "The Future of Techno"!?. That's basically the best endorsement you can get, and on the promoter side, this guy is probably about 1/3 the cost. Fresh names is only a good thing, I haven't heard of Andres Doria but I hope the night goes well! props |

ahh yes senor Scratch Master
one of the better dj's, his sets have more energy in them than anyone else right now IMO.I know Preach thinks alot of him too from what i have read.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm I like how there's lots of ..."like Lawler" this and ..."like Lawler" that. I love Lawler yay
I can't wait to hear this dude Andrea, I love that name teehee!
And imo, ANYONE spinning alongside Martin or who is spinning because of him is VERY worthy of my listening/dancing time.
I trust you Martin, 10000% hehe...and I really like the way things are going for Aria in June/beginning of July. I hope to see more of your input in the future months
at least liebing has keep his ideology, he's not turning minimal techno like eveyone else, so ... much respect for him !!!!
i still think montreal has a place for a techno night !! hehehe
i wont stop saying it !!
8 i would like to see HENRIK B :P

yeap true, but he still keep it hard !!
The thing about Liebing is that even though I wouldn't classify him now as a minimal techno dj or anything, he has gradually shifted to a softer sound, and most of the recent sets of his that I have heard usually start pretty mellow with stuff like releases on M-nus or Border Community but then builds it up a bit harder until the end. He's certainly not alone, but since for many people here Chris Liebing is basically the definition of hard techno.. I am a bit disheartened myself.
I buy a lot of his productions and the stuff he has released in the last year or so is typical Liebing for the most part.
anyway.. this thread is about Aria!
and Henrik B would be a solid booking for sure
electro @ aria is going to be a blast !!
