It doesn't matter how bad the veteran players played because Brazil will still be a kick ass team with Ronaldo gone as they have Robinho who will most likely be the next Ronaldo.

Robinho is not and never will be as good as Ronaldo. Not in a million years. At his age, Ronaldo was already two-time FIFA world player of the year, terrorizing entire teams and THE focal point of the Brazilian national team. The main problem I see with Robinho is that he's physically frail. He gets muscled off the ball wayyyy too easily, and he doesn't look like the type of player that can add much more weight to his frame. His frame is naturally slender. Ronaldo, by 22, was an absolute beast. Robinho is a good, crafty, sometimes spectacular player, but will never be Ronaldo's equal. Not even close.

hah, all you babies whining about refs again.

Brazil played horrible and won 2-0

the end.

End of the story, I must have been watching a different game because I don't remember any controversial call from the ref, but what's new right, complaining about the ref...

Seems to be the cool thing to do around here.. fuck ref this, fuck ref that.

Lots of people whining about the referee after the USA game as well.. even though he didn't make a single bad call. Some faulty offsides calls yes, but blame the linesmen for that, not the referee.

That's the problem when people who think just because they watched one football game in their lifes they assume they know the sport from top to bottom... Clueless bunch

Posted by Kapedano on Jun-18-2006 19:57:

people will bitch at refs all the time, its part of the game, especially when thier team lost or had a draw.

so fuck the refs!

Posted by Saka on Jun-18-2006 20:13:

But thats the point, I usually get on with refs, but even in games in which my country isn't playing and I couldn't give a toss who won, which is all but 2 so far obviously, I still don't get these refs, the tackle on ronadlo at the beginning of todays match which left him scraped and bruised was, as the commentators said, and 'orange card offense', it was definately deservable for a yellow or red.

I hope we have better refos for the knockouts, or its really just going to mess things up.

damn... i recorded the game and now i dont even wanna watch it after reading all this.. respect to the ozzie defense..

i really am hoping that brasil aren't what they used to be, despite some stars.. i'm tired of them winning

they're not. a team of individual talents not working to potential as a team.

the aussies can hold their heads up high. solid defense against the great attackers of the game. unlucky with that second goal, committed too much to the offensive half leaving brazil to run over Schwarzer.

lol @ Fred. that's almost as good a name as Alex.

i know what you feel

i hate Parreira, he's a terribly conservative coach, one of the reasons for the crappy brazil's act

so if you wanna see spectacle go watch Soleil, at least by now

brazil will get the way (i wish) and so baby no matter how hard you try, you can't stop us

about aussies grumbling, go to play rugby

Posted by LittleGoku on Jun-19-2006 06:47:

Brazil at its worst wins by 2

they are playing terrible but no one has yet to score on them.

another example of how fast people forget - a brazilian fan hating Parreira. Scolari is somehow a much better manager heh?

He is a great coach but our best coach is Vanderlei Luxemburgo, I can't understand CBF choosing Parreira.

Keeping Juninho Pernambucano away from the field is making it much harder. Our substitute team plays way better than the actual, the last match was 3 x 0 to the substitutes.

And one thing for sure both Ronaldos plays SHIT in the brazilian team, I hate Ronaldo Fat Guy, Ronaldo Samba Predator, and the worst: Parreira

I was wondering about that as well.. why don't Juninho, Cininho, Fred, Gilberto Silva, etc. get more playing minutes when the veterans are playing like crap?

^ maybe they're waiting for the big gun games to put teh better players in..
