haha i remember walking in like.. WTF i hate this set up!

I can't even see edgar spinning!! Then Felipe told me he was upstairs in the patio -oops- lol.

Well i agrr on that.. they need to lower the booth cuz there isn't that much room to step back and see the dj when ur up in the front. Especially when the dj isnt even there !!

That happened to me too until I saw him in the screen. I just keep thinking how much of a disappointment the set up is now.

Plain and simple, the new setup in the main room blows. That booth is way too high, and that ensures much less crowd interaction with the DJ. That in turn hurts the overall vibe in the room.

And the new placement makes the room seem tiny because there is hardly any space between the booth and the bar directly in front of it. There will undoubtedly be huge traffic jams in front of that booth, because you know everyone wants to be located facing the booth, and they will not fit.

Bad move by Space.

but the orginal one was high too, is the new one even higher than that?

i went to sanchez last night and saw the new booth in action(i didnt stay for sanchez lol only saw some of cedric and he blew thats why we left). its exactly the same height as the old one and its location is much better imo. you can see the dj from all over and no matter where you stand you feel relatively close to the dj. now they just need to lower the booth a little

Your entiled to your opinion but I remember being there yesterday and I was like let me moved I cant see the dj then I had to move to were the bar in front of the dj is. Its almost the same height but for some reason it look higher to me.,, I just couldnt wait to get to the patio the screens are killer.

the one thing i dont like...

is the bar directly behind the booth.

they can put that to where the old booth was and clear up alot more space making it look bigger..

and they can also make the vip room smaller too.. so we can have a wide + long main room.

Posted by ClubGoddess on Jun-25-2006 22:04:

maybe that bar will eventually come out

Seriously, who gives a shit what the new set up looks like, big deal, go there for the DJ and the music, plain and simple

Smiley DJ don't like it at all---but understand it

I heard about the changes and I understand WHY they needed to do it (kind of), but i do not like them at all. Now the set up IS important b/c it's not just the music...it's the lighting, the crowd, the whole experience. Part of that is being able to see the DJ, feel that connection with the music and vibe...and the crowd. Here, horizontal wise just doesn't work. The laser is terrible there. Before it got proper usage by spraying across the entire club--it really added something special. The whole place feels smaller now. Just a general disconnect from the experience i thought. It reminded me of this bar in Chicago i used to go to a bit--SOUNDBAR....great LOOKING club...but a friggin' lousy set up. Rectangular dancefloors like the new space set up just don't do it. Facing the VIP room? Like half those idiots even care! haha. Change is necessary though. Another year or two from now...SPace will still be here....there will be another change---but it will live on--and we'll all still be going. And likely having the same debate again

It makes you feel like there a smaller area in front of you to see the DJ.

What was your first thought of Space?!?!?!.. Mine was a dark place with some awesome beats and lights with lasers going off.. this obscure place. And I think Space its the only club that can do that when it wants, I dont like the flashy thing, but like many have said, its the best club in the area, and to many who've traveled, the best one in the USA. TWILO once had that luxury, be #1 in America, now its Space.. Im now looking forward to TWILO's grand opening and what it'll be like. Hopefully a resemblance of what it was in NW, with residents such as Sasha & Digweed, Vasquez, Roger, Morillo, PvD, and even Tiesto was bound to be a resident before its closure.
