Total and utter bullshit penalty. Utter trash.

I can't believe it...

I wish I could translate into words this feeling of seeing such a fantastic newcoming squad being eliminated for one of the most unfair decisions I've seen a referee make in this world cup.

Can't we have robots replace them?

Wow what a crazy match Im overjoyed but Im quite sad since Ive been a fan of the Soccerroos since thier Uruguay 2nd leg.

Shame you guys went out we were shitty hopefully now we will wake up and Totti will guide us soon. Good luck next year guys Aussies are great with great fans

holy shit that sucked...

and stupid espn commentators said you can't blame the ref... of course you can and you should... wtf!

Posted by Sinus on Jun-26-2006 16:55:

Let's hope Italy gets trashed in the next round. Bunch of fucking luckers, as usual.

well, a lot of u did say the match was going to penalty kicks
.
.
.
oh wait

that penalty was legitimate, u cant dive in front of a player when hes in the box, its a stupid thing to do because the player will trip over u and the referee got it spot on in this case. Italy should never have had a man sent of so shame that australia couldnt take their chances.

thats a real fuckin shame to go out like that.

This World Cup was still a success for Australia, our first qualification in over 30 years, our firt goal, our first win, to go into the top 16............

A tragedy though.

These are some of the reasons why this loss was so painful to see. You guys had it all going, were clearly stronger, and you were far from being favourites before the games began.

Italy, on the other hand... I still can't believe that game I saw between Italy and United States - I felt my chair moving, given how much it sucked.

Yeah, France are much better indeed

Tais-toi, imbcile.

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jun-26-2006 17:08:

Unlucky, however full credit to Italy for defending extremely well with one man down. Australia really need a stronger attack and better passing. We just couldn't capitalise on the numbers, and instead of attacking on many opportunities the ball was sent back allowing Italy to settle down.

Perhaps the game really highlighted how much value Harry could have added. Just one good shot was all that was required.

Viduka... meh.

The Cinderella story has ended. Good luck Italy in the next round.

I for one would have liked to see an AU - Ukraine/Swiss quarter final

1-0 that penalty after 90' 4th min extra time? reminds me some Juventus games won in the same way (with Moggi's help)

Any ref can be bought by the Italians, they certainly have the experience for it
