Just a few artists or duos i'm into currently, or have been into for a number of years. There's more, but that's all I can think of right now...i like a mixture of electronica, ambient or shoegazer, singer-songwriter pop, downbeat/trip hop and ethereal, new age music...but I like a lot of classic rock too like Pink Floyd, Styx, REO Speedwagon, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors, The Beatles, The Stones etc...

im glad u like them.... they are awsome
Hip hop
Outkast (older Outkast) best lyricists ever
Wu-Tang Clan (strong 2nd)
Ludacris...not so much for his lyrics, although they aren't too shabby when you compare them to some of the "shit" that comes out of "rappers" today...and I believe he is a bit underrated and goes mainstream for the money, but I'm a really big fan of that southern style "funky" hip hop sounds that artists like Luda & Outkast put out there.
Rock
STP
Pearl Jam
Audio Slave
Rage Against the Machine
Tool
Godsmack (LOVING their new song "Speak")
Pink Floyd
U2
Dire Straits
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Radiohead
Nirvana
I could go on forever with the rock...i'm a huge rock fan.
i'm a huge hip hop fan too..even the newer "crap"...but only because of the beats/sounds...not really because of the artists. for me, when it comes to hip hop, it's all about the beat and sound and the lyrics are just a bonus, so i'm guilty of liking G-unit stuff like Lloyd Banks and 50 Cent, just because i think they got great sounds and it's the kind of hip hop that gets me out of my seat and dancing in the club.

oh and @ lucid - good songs by guster, but imo the entirety of their album lost and gone forever is just fucking amazing
saw them live a few months ago, fucking rocked
newer album isn't as good
and for anyone who doubts gusters greatness, shit. just googled for pictures of them live, couldn't find any good ones. their drummer (for the most part) doesn't use drum sticks, he just uses his hands. its fuckin sweet

Originally posted by lcid i was obsessed with them years ago, for about a month, after i heard one of their songs on a Michigan radio station. now everytime i hear them i just think of Van Wilder (the movie). sweet... i didn't know that! that's almost as impressive as Def Leppard's one-armed drummer. ![]() ooo i forgot to mention one more band in my list... Dream Theater <3 !!!

Originally posted by Slylee i wouldn't necessarily say that people who keep it simple and real are a specific group of people, like for example, "rockers" or "tree hugging hippies". i think the type of people i'm talking about are actually part of a more broad classification. like really, there's only 2 people in this world. people who are content with themselves and drama-free and dont really go out of their way to be a certain labled image...there's no hidden agenda really. i think it's refreshing that's all. and then there's people who are the opposite. confused, angry, "deep", emotional, "artists", dramatic creatures who are really just narcissists. lol

Originally posted by Halcyon+On+On Didn't your boyfriend dump you because of you saying personal things about him over the internet? No, wait, that didn't happen...or did it? The truth is so ambiguous when it comes to you sometimes. It sure would be funny if that entire episode turned out to be a bald-faced lie. That would sure make most of what you said in the above quote total bullshit, wouldn't it? Stirring up drama, taking on an act, going out of your way to create unnecessary drama in front of everyone. Not that you did it because you were confused or angry or deep though - just because you were bored? Or maybe that masochistic side of you really wanted to see everyone feel sorry for you and your problems.
