Raps do training camp stuff at my school.

Thinking about checking it out one of these days.

Just read Swirsky's blog today about Raps vs Wizards exhibition game.

Sounds like Bargnani is going to get hurt on defence a lot... Worrisome.

that has always been the knock on bargnani, and along with lack of physical strength. but fuck, he's young - and has plenty of time to develop. i'm not worried one bit.

besides, swirsky is a fucking tool - guy doesnt even know how to dress himself. once sold him some casual clothing and he asked me if he should wear his brown belt with his khaki's and black shoes.

tool.

LOL. Swirsky wasn't bad mouthing Bargnani. He was just reporting that he's getting a lot of fouls.

Posted by MarkT on Oct-10-2006 03:24:

meh, people need to lay off Bargnani...especially reporters who should know better.

the guy is a rookie and a kid...give him a break, lol. He's not expected to startt or even play substantial minutes, thanks to the depth they have and the number of guys who can play multiple positions. If he plays 1/3 of most games, the Raps should be content.

Kobe wasn't exactly a superstar during his first couple of years in the league either

Media being sensible?

You kid!!!

Another win for Raps. Yeah it's only preseason but so far Raps are 7-0.

Calderon got his confidence back. He's hacking and slashing and just terrorizing the opposition.

Fred Jones has game. Thank you Indiana for letting him go.

Kris 'The Hammer' Humphries is working his ass off, fighting for every rebound. Not going to score many buckets, but does the little things. Him and Pape Sow are going to punish others under the rim.

Can't wait until the season starts

Posted by MarkT on Oct-26-2006 05:25:

Fred Jones...I'm telling ya...this dude is going to be a major impact player...great signing.

we had our Yahoo NBA draft tonight with 14 people in total. lucky me ended up with the 13th pick I had 2nd last year.

still...not a bad lineup at all: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Peja Stojakovic, Josh Howard and Zadrunas Ilgauskas to start...Raja Bell, Andrea Bargnani and Andre Miller on the bench. May sub Bell in right away...Howard was a darkhorse pick.

solid

anyone else do the Yahoo fantasy stuff?

Posted by Yohan on Oct-26-2006 05:48:

Agreed with Howard being a dark horse.

Though in Orlando, he is going to get play time and he's got massive talent.

Posted by DigDeep on Oct-26-2006 13:53:

Raptors Undefeated???......

..... i blame the new synthetic balls.

Posted by TO guy on Oct-26-2006 14:00:

Got my home opener tickets the other day, I am so psyhced for this season!!

Posted by starsearcher on Oct-26-2006 14:25:

7-0...that's amazing...this might actually make me a Raptor fan - all aboard the bandwagon!

sorry, I meant Josh Howard being my dark horse, lol. I have two "Howard"s on my team...should've been more specific.

Dwight is a blue chipper, for sure!

Raps remain undefeated in the pre-season? jeez...all the sort-of-fans are going to have stupid expectations now, LOL.

Posted by TO guy on Nov-01-2006 18:57:

Tonight is opening night in New Jersey!!

I think the game is available on the Score, or Raptors TV, NBA TV, or whatever that digital cable shit is called (argh, I call it "shit", but of course I wish I had it!!). I can't wait to see this new team run the shit out of Vince.

GO RAPS!!!

Posted by mute79 on Nov-01-2006 19:04:

ahah, read an article today on Vince.. Apparently, he wants to come back to TO! He said he never had any beef with the city, but rather with the management..

lol, no thanks

Posted by MarkT on Nov-01-2006 20:32:

I will boycott the Raps and not watch another game if they get him back.

Yea, and I believe him. The people who were running this team for the past couple of years were a bunch of douches. I don't blame Vince for what he did, I would've done the same thing if they brought in a knob like Babcock who couldn't put a team together to save his life. Of course the media in this city, being the sorry ****s they are, twisted it all around to make him look like a complete jackass.

Still though, the Raptors shouldn't bring him back. It's a totally different team now and I don't think he'd fit in.

It doesn't help that Vince is a whiny bitch.

Of course Vince can fit in Mitchell's system.

You run. You fight for every loose ball. You play defence as best as you can. You work your tail off every possession.

Simple.

Bloody hell. I get RaptorsTV, but I don't get Score.

It wasn't much of a game to watch for a Raptor's fan ..... in the second half anyhow.

i dunno man, grunwald pampered him like a baby... vince pretty much dictated what teammates he wanted to surround himself with

as for babcock, he was hired with just to move vince... VCs days were numbered way before babcock ever showed up...

everything is Richard Peddie's fault.. the last bastion of the Alan Slaight era..

Look, the thing is, is that vince is locker room poison, upper level management saw that, saw the team was going nowhere, wanted to clean house. Then hired disposable people to do it, vince's ego clashed with it and wanted out. Simple as that.

*blink*
That's a very cynical way of looking at it

Hey, it's easier to build from the ground up than a crumbling foundation.

And seriously, you can't tell me Babcock was really in the running for building the team once all the wasted money on guaranteed contracts were gone. They gave him just enough slack to hang himself with bad draft choices, but not enough to pull of a trade to improve the franchise. [In his eyes]

And you can't tell me the rest of the team can be happy with Vince when he dictates [or tries to] the choice of coach, GM, and some teammates. They handed him the franchise, and when he himself made stupid choices and the management wanted control back, he and his mom started to cry foul.

So what do you do? CLEAN HOUSE. < (ENTER) > 'Babcock the disposable'.

Vince can do this.

It's this I'm worried about. And didn't vince refuse to play under mitchell at the end of his tenure here?
