I agree. When I go to north dakota, there is a very strict catholic family we visit for like, an hour, they have every channel blocked on the TV besides EWTN. Their kids don't go to public school, and don't have any friends. When I was into pokemon a good 7-8 years ago, they didn't even know what it was.

But they are very nice, and very classy. How can kids be like that without ever doing anything besides tending to the farm, wtf?

I never said that they NEED to (and if I did, my mistake) but its a good way of teaching them.

especially when there are so many children that are well behaved when they go to these types of restaurants.

And I'm completely fine with being selfish in that regard.

I cannot tell you how many times poor parenting and misbehaving kids have ruined a $50-$100 meal for me.

That sucks. Fuckin' tiny terrorists. Jeez. Ruining meals of that caliber is inexcusable.

Hell. Ruining ANY meal is inexcuseable, but still...!

Posted by lcid on Jun-29-2006 04:08:

i'm all for parents taking their OLDER well-behaved kids out to nice restaurants... fucks sake, my mom was taking me out for lavish meals when i was like 6 years old. i see plenty of well-behaved younger kids at restaurants.

but the problem is when parents take their babies or toddlers to nice restaurants. kids that age don't know any better, and they don't give a shit what they're eating. they'd probably rather be home mashing a banana into the new living room carpeting with their grubby little devil hands. i don't understand why the parents feel the need to take their kids out to a restaurant when they know they're gonna misbehave and disturb other people who are just trying to have a nice meal.

if you can afford a $28 steak, you can afford a fucking babysitter.

I revise my earlier ban on all children, and amend it to read "Children 13 and Younger."

If you're still sitting at the kiddie table for Thanksgiving dinner, you're too young to be at a nice restaurant.

thats a bitch but you cant shun every single child because a few hyper kids, whose parents cant control them, ruined your dinners.

that's the only reason I had jaden...so I could pick up chicks at the park. DUH. why don't people get with the program

actually for me...it scares the losers away...and keeps the real men around.

It's appreciated.

I'm not too keen on the idea butttttt..........

I sat at the kiddie table until I was like 18.

For the few times I'm able to actually go out to a nice dinner, the percentage of evenings where random obnoxious children are running rampant through the restaurant is staggering.

And don't even get me started on the people who eat at the Olive Garden...

I'm balding & I hate kids - I'm certainly well on my way to becoming the standard "Old Man."

I also own several pairs of plaid pants.

if you're such an amazing parent that your biggest issue is whether or not to take your child to a fine restaurant then good on you. however, until you've reached that point, save your f'ing money and spend it on better things like handguns

oddly I agree. I wanna have kids but I cant even count (cause i dont remember and cause the list is HUGE) the number of times various loudmouth kids and bad parents have ruined what I was doing. even back when my mom forced me to go to church with her

600 people packed into a church with no A/C in the blazing summer with a fucking 4 year old directly in front of you turning around, making face, throwing shit at you, dropping food on you (why do their parents let them bring bags of dry cereal to church.. srsly)

then the mom at the end of the row with the baby that wont stop screaming and all she does is readjust how she's holding him every 5 minutes to get him to stop and finally 10 minutes before mass is over she decides its enough and takes him screaming to the bathroom.

dont even get me started on restaurants

pffft well there you go, apparently you're eating at Red Lobster or Tony Romas, sure to find kids there.

I don't think i've ever seen a annoying kid at any of the fine restaurants i've been to though, in miami at least. Maybe it's more common in Milliwauke scene.

Personally, if i'de have a kid, i'de take her to fine restaurants whenever i got the chance. It's important for family to do these things everynow and then... as a kid i loved going out to dine with my parents.

Not to mention, some restaurants want parents to take their kids out because it's better business, so they would never ban kids out of restaurants.

Spending $100 on a meal in Wisconsin is essentially equivalent to spending $500 in Miami... I'm not talking about chain restaurants here m8, I'm talking about local fine dining establishments that are, by any standard, rather nice.

It is so weird... my oldest best friend had a baby and named her Jayden.

Exclamation Lack of discipline

I don't know if it's safe for me to mention "older" child handling techniques as I know some people are outraged by spankings etc but there is an obvious lack of discipline from the parents.
Worshipping their little creatures yet never taking force in having the little ones take responsibility for their actions. Threatening to threaten and never following through despite the kid deserving it hard!
